Kelly at the Golden Rule hotel last GOES TO MRS. CHRIS LEMPKE ADJUDGED INSANE. Her Condition Brought on by the Sul clde of Her Husband Last Wednes-, day. Sheriff T. D. Taylor loft this morn ing for Salem with Mrs. Chris Lemp ke who was adjudged Insane Satur day evening. Mrs. Lempke's Is one of tho saddest cases In the history of Umatilla. While she Is not considered Incurable she Is now in a crtlcal condition. Her condition was brought on by the sui cide of her husband last Wednesday. Since his death Mrs. Lempko has continuously been brooding over the sad and untimely taking off of her husband. When she was brought to town Sat urday evening, Dr. McFaul, tho exam ining physician, thought that by a few days' rest nud a littlo sleep she would be alright again. She was kept here Saturday night and Sunday and opiates wero given her to produce sleep, but Instead of being improved by tho rest she became worse and it was deemed best to send her to Sa lem for a few weeks whore she could have the very best of care and lie un der skilled physicians. She Is not violent and makes no disturbance, hut is just stupid and broken down. The worry of hor hus band's death has overtaxed her nerves and sho Is a total wreck nhvulrnllv J It is thought that with a few weeks of! quiet away from tho scene of her hus band's suicide that she will again be brought back to herself and be rational. Water at 150 Feet. S. E. Walker, who erected a resi dence on tho hill, near OIney ceme tery, last fall, has just completed a well 150 feet deop.
