Today was St. Anne's day and thousands of Ro man catholics from many points within a radius of 200 miles cele brated the occasion by joining in the eleventh annual pilgrimage to the shrine of St. Anne, near this' city. The shrine, which has become fa mous the country over, is located in the French catholic church in the village of St. Anne, about tweve miles from here. The shrine con tains a relic in a bone supposed to have bao.i t iken from tho hand of St. Anne. Many stories are told of the marvelous miracles performed through the intercession of the saint at the pilgrimages, and each year on St. Anne's day, the devout French catholics journey to the shrine to worship at the relic of their patron saint and bring their diseased and crippled, so that they may receive the benefits asserted to be bestowed by the devotions. !
