Society events are few and far be
tween these days, owing to the fact
that nearly everyone who can possi
bly get Into the hills or to some sum
mer resort has gone, and those who daughters.
have not gone are preparing to go Im
mediately. Some are spending the heated sea
son at Seaside, Clatsop Beach, and
other points on the coast, while many
more are putting their pleasure times
In the hills, at Bingham Springs
Meacham, Lehman Springs, Teal
Springs or other places in the moun
tains southeast of Pendleton, enjoying
life drinking in the mountain zephyrs
and wading the streams catching
speckled beauties. Those who are so
situctbd as to be ablo to enjoy life
in the mountains during the heated
season are indeed in luck, and those , , H k
who are compelled to stay in town to, T t
are justifiable in envying tlieir lucky
neighbors' lot.
