Lowell vs. Furnish.
Hon. Stephen A. Lowell is being
roasted ror his recent letter nlede-
ing his support to Chamberlain, the
democratic nominee for governor,
Judge Lowell is a life-long republi
can and was a prominent aspirant for
tne nomination which Mr. Furnish
landed, and 'this fact is taken as a
text by many partisan writers and
spouters who are busy just now vili-
lying Lowell as a silly sore head
and a traitor to his party. If Mr.
Lowell's only reason for refusing to
support Mr. Furnish is the f&ct thnf
Furnish secured the nomination that
i.oweii wanted, his position is cer
tainly discreditable, to say the least,
but if his reasons are as h RtntfR
in his letter, that Furnish seciir(i
the nomination and hopes to secure
an election through corrupt influen-
ces and by corrupt methods, he is to
be commended as a true patriot and
an honorable citizen. His action may
not be good politics from the stand
point of future personal preferment
in his party, but wp take Judee Low

A coticle of winters asro I
slipped on a frozen sidewalk
and fell flat on my back. On
being examined I found that
I had sustained internal inju
ries which laid me up for more
than two months. After that
I noticed that I had pains in
the back and groin which I
never had before. I doctored
and doctored for several
months but as the pains in
creased instead of growing
better 1 decided that I was not having the
right treatment. Reading in the papers
of the wonderful cures performed by
Wine of Cardui I wrote to one of the
parties and received a very satisfactory
reply and I immediately sent for some.
In a very short time I felt generally better
and after seven weeks faithful use I was
once more well and strong. I have never
had a sick hour since and I dally bless
your splendid medicine.
