Elgin, formerly of Pendleton, now one of the most extensive farm ers of Franklin county, near Connell, Wash., where he was compelled to re 8ow 1000 acres this spring, has met with a piece of well deserved good for tune. About six weeks ago Mr. Elgin put a new diamond drill at work on his place, and it has now encountered an ample supply of water, at a depth 01 about 320 feet. Ben F.
