Mar tin's Family Grocery and Makery. THE SISTERS HOSPITAL. The Structure Increased In Size and to be of Brick and Stone. Work is to begin at once on the new hospital that is to be built by tho sisters, near their school, in the east end of town. The contract has al ready been let to D. O. May for tho foundation and basement work, which Is to be completed within 40 days and as soon as that is done the brick work will be commenced and pushed to completion as rapidly as possible. The sister superior is here now. and she has made arrangements for tho building to bo considerably larger than was at first planned. Tho con stant demands for care of the sick and injured are the causes of the de cision to Increase tho size. It will now be a two-story structure, beside the basement, with a size, over all of 100x48 feet and will be constructed of brick and dressed stone.- It is to have all the modern methods and an pllanccs and bo run in tho most im proved plan for the benefit and care of the afflicted, and instead of only costing $16,000, $30,000 Is to be ex pended on the building alone. Fred Josephson, master-at-arms in the United States navy, is in town ar ranging as advance agent for Lieu tenant J. P .Morton and Dr. Bell, who will be here Friday and open head quarters for recruiting office. A room has been secured at the court house and tho office will be open for en listments from a. m .to 3 p. m. Boys from 15 to 17 years of age are wanted for apprentices. These will not go to sea at first, but will be sent to a mil itary training school at San Francis co for the first 6 months, after which they will go aboard a training ship. Landsmen are also wanted, ranging in age from 18 to 25. They will have the same opportunities in training as the boys for the first three or four months, when they will go aboard a training ship where they will remain for a time and then be transferred to the. regular man-of-war. The wages will be small at first but will increase until a fair wage is paid, and all will have a chance to work up. Boys un der 19 must have the consent of their parents or guardian. The Grandmother Appointed. Harriet Walker has filed a peti tion with County Judge G. A. Hart man asking to be appointed guardian of the person and property of Tui ley J. Walter, the six-year-old son of WarrenM. Walter, of Milton. In her petition Mrs. Walter, who is the grandmother of Turley J. Walter, sets forth that he is the heir to an estate, both in Texas and Illinois, that is valued at $3500 and that ho needs a guardian to look after these interests. The petition was granted.
