The little aligator which has been an attraction at Schwartz's saloon for several months, was injured by a boy while playing with it and it sudden ly died. The little fellow's neck was broken in an . innocent little amuse ment by one of a party of boys. Thomas Isitt, Leonard Cantrill and Samuel Schiffner, three lads arrested for not attending school, were yes terday taken to the reform school, having been committed by Judge Brents. Considerable trouble has been experienced with boys who re; fuse to go to school, and the harsh treatment of the three lads was in tended as a lesson to others. An ef fort is being made to secure a full attendance of children who should be in school regularly; The Tacoma Brewing Company has purchased the wholesale liquor house formerly managed by A. J. Wolf, and the new concern will be represented locally by Messrs. Corn and Moath. Walla Walla will be a closed town Sunday on account of the excursion to Pendleton and Athena. All the places of business will close and the barber shops have signed an agree ment to remain closed all day. that the barbers may have a chance to see the ball games. fors no hold for handling in detail, it is wholly charming. The production Is without question the most lavish that hns been seen for many years, and the entire company is excellent and1 fully capable not only of singing tho tune ful music, but extracting all tho fun out of the story that distinguishes It from many other pieces of tho kind that has been seen here."
