able with the aid of a mysterious compound
known only to himself, produced as a result of
the years he has spent in searching for this

There Is no doubt of the doctor's earnestness in
making his claim and the remarkable cures

very strongly. His theory which he advances
Is one of reason andbased on sound experi

costs nothing to try bis remarkable "Elixer of
Life," as he calls it, for he sends it free to any
one who is a sufferer, in sufficient quantities to
convince of its ability to cure, so there is abso

are very remarkable, and but lor reliable wit

have thrown away crutches and walked about
after two or three trials of the remedy. The
sick, given up by home doctors, have been re
stored to their families and friends in perfect
health. Bheumatlsm, neuralgia, stomach,
heart, liver, kidney, blood and skin diseases
and bladder troubles disappear as if by magic.

EAST END NOTES.
Furnished by the Two Papers. of Mil
ton and Freewater.
The Milton "Eagle supplies the East
Oregonlan with the following Items: '
G. A. Nichols has accepted a posi
tion as business manager of an Aa
ventlst j:ollege at Barron Springs,
Mich., and departs Wednesday to as
sume his duties.
D. J. P.helps, of "the Bee Hive store,
shipped COO dozen eggs to points cast
of the mountains this week. TKo Mil
ton hen has at last awakened to a
sense of her responsibility, and as a
result the local market is glutted.
Henry Lloyd returned to MSIton
Sunday from .Moscow, Idaho, where
ne has DOen for the past five months
in the employ of the Seattle Grain
Company. Henry has but recently
recovered from the smallpox and ex
pects to take a vacation of several
weeks.
Freewater Notes.
The Times at Freewater furnishes
the following items:
Alfred Salberger died Sunday of
consumption at the home of his pa
rents, below Freewater. He had but
lately returned from Seattle, where
he had been in hopes of regaining
his health. The funeral services took
place at the family home Sunday. The
deceased was 21 years of age.
This vicinity is credited with many
wondrous things In fruit and berry
culture, but Frank J. Berry claps the
climax by raising strawberries during
the past stormy weeks. At his Free-
water garden plot he has berries half
grown that were sheltered by sod par
tially turned over them during their
last cultivation. They are of an ex
cellent variety and Frank is wishing
now that he had enough to supply an
early April market.
Freewater is a dry town this week
and will remain so until such future
time as the city council sees fit to
grant permission for the sale of
liquor. In all probability two licenses
will be granted at the next meeting of
the council, Monday, March 31. At
the present time there is no liquor
being sold here, and those whose
thirst cannot be assuaged may take
their choice of going to the Walla
Walla saloons, or joining the social
and commercial club in the temper
ance town of Milton.
Protection for Public Men.
An Austrian inventor has perfected
a garment which, it is claimed, will
resist a knife thrust or a bullet from
an assassin's pistol. Its adoption will
furnish wonderful protection to rulers
and public men, and while it Is neces
sary to protect their bodies from
harm on the outside, it Is infinitely
more important to protect them from
serious danger on the inside, such as
may arise from a disordered stomach,
weak kidneys or impure blood. The
beBt health maker and protector
known to science is the old reliable
Hostetter's Stomach Bitters. For BO
years it has been making sickly peo
ple well by curing all such ailments
as sick headache, indigestion, dyspep
sia, flatulency and insomnia. It is
also a splendid spring tonic and blood
purifier, and should be In every household.

DRUGGISTS MUST BE CHARY.
.They Sell All Kinds of Hair Prepara
tions and Fear to Discriminate.
Druggists sell all kinds of hair pre
parations and as a rule they are wise'
ly chary of giving preferance to any
particular one, but many of them have
come out plainly for Newbro s Herpi
cide, the new treatment that abso
lutely kills the dandruff germ. H.
Swannell & Son, .Champaign, 111., say:
"One customer of ours who did "not
have a hair on top of his head when
he began the use of Herpicide, now
has a fair start towards a good head
of hair. We believe Herpicide to be
by far the best preparation of Its kind
on the market." Hundreds of similar
testimonials from everywhere.
