Walla Walla, March 10. With fair weather for a few days more the farm ers of this valley will have finished the work of reseeding the thousands of acres of grain frozen out by the severe cold snap of last winter, when severe damage was done to grain In most of the light soil of Walla Walla county. In the stronger soils but lit tle damage was reported, and the re seeding has been as light as in tho past years. Thousands of acres nave been sown a second time, and farmers are now hoping for an early spring and favor able weather. Only with a most fa vorable season can tho yield bo ex pected to come up to the average for fall grain, and with a dry season the crop will be short. Spring seed ing has not begun and will not for several days, as the demand for teams and men to replant the fall grain has been so strong that all spring work has been abandoned. Plowing is now in progress and with fair weather tho spring work will be delayed but little In the end. Notice to Contractors. Sealed proposals will bo received at the office of T. P. Howard, archi tect, up to 12 o'clock noon of March 18th, 1902, for the erection and entire completoln of a two story and base ment residence for Dr. Wi. G.
