The article as it appeared in the Bakci ( 'It v Herald was so manifestly 1 a paid advertisement of the Candida cy ot mv local opponent that I did not deeni It worthy my attention, but Its appearance In n paper published in the city of my home gives II such standing that it may lie misleading. Permit m therefore, to say that my candidacy will continue until a I'overnor Is nominated by the republi can convention and that I expect to win My hope of success has been at all times with the plain people, not with the politicians.
