said Mrs. Fee. "Early settlers looked

club of the federut ion now assembled
in convention.

ance and fortitude for the dllllcitlties
they have to meet. While from the
larger ones we receive the coiitribut ions
of power und numbers. Scholars tall

gained her greatness, not from the
larger craft, but from the many
smaller ones that plied in the trade
she controlled." Speaking of the

adjourned to renaaeuible at 3 o'clock,
The federation song was sung at the
opening this afternoon, after which
were heard the reports of the various
clubs, and the report of the BOM'
mittea on revision of the eonstitution
uml by-laws. Mr.-, c. B. Wad.- spoke
on the "Objects of Oregon Pedors-
tioo," and the subject of education
was taken up next. A paper by Miss
F.lling.-r, of l'ortlund, win. is abeant,
wus read by Mrs. Rogers, of the huiiic
city, mi "kindergarten Work;" one
ofl "Manual Training," by Mrn. Louis
Altman, alao absent, was r. ad by
Mrs. t'otnstiH'k. The report of the
