Annual Meeting to Be Held In Milwaukee
During June.

painting is by Mrs. Murrhus, an artist

Fourth of July Meetlns This Evening at
the Council Rooms.
Mayor F. W. Vincent will preside a!
the meeting to bo held this evening in
the council rooms to take tip the ques
tion of the Fourth of July celebration
in Pendleton this yenf. Prominent
business men have already expressed
themselves as favorable to the idea of
Pendleton having a first-class celebra
tion this year. It appears to be the
general wish that the celebration be
made as good an it possibly ran he.
To this end, business men should
attend the meet ing this evening, which
will Ih at 8 o clock. Only a few
minutes need lie consumed, and there
fore those interested ran afford to takr
the trouble to he present.
Locomotives Run With Oil.
One of the largest railroads on the
Pacific roast ban decided to nubntitute
oil in place of roal as fuel on its en
gines, iiut whether the experiment
will prove a success remains to he
seen. In this respect it differs from
