Beat egg yolks and whites sep
arately, then together u n t i l
creamy; add sugar, slowly beat
ing until bubbles appear. Sift the
baking powder with the flour thor
oughly, then add the anise seed.
Add slowly to the above m ixture
and m ix well. Let stand for four
hours in a cool place. Roll out,
cut into fancy shapes and place on
sheets of paper to dry. Bake in
slow oven.
