(My Junior Robinson) The Gold H ill high school Beav er» journeyed Io Sam» Valley Thursday night, December lit, and were victorious in one game and defeated in Ihe second. The first team won by a small margin. 14-12, in a fast contest. The Beavers seconds lost by the narrow margin of two points, the score be ing 15-13. The first team displayed the best form and fight that they have since the season started, both on offense and defense. The seconds, a;'*»ring the temporary loss of two of their regular players, were somewhat handicapped. These were the last games until after the holidays. We are beginning our fifth year in Gold H ill as publish ers i f Hie News, and we are glad of this occasion to thank our subscribers, advertisers, and others who have given the paper their splendid support. During the time we have published the News many n 'w readers have joined our list of subscribers, and while our equipment is limited so that w * cannot always give the serv ice we would like to, we hope to givei this community a bigger and better paper in 1936. A lively Christmas party was en joyed by members of the Gold H ill Grange at their hall last Thursday night, December 19, after the regu lar business meeting. Each member brought a Christ mas gift. These were delivered by Santa Claus with bis reindeer. Everyone wore old clothes and tach lady brought a “hobo" lunch which was purchased by the men. Oranges and candy were also serv ed. The remainder of the bazaar fancy work was sold. Games were played and a pleas ant evening was enjoyed. I. O. Zierolf Announce* Suspension Dairy Business The Odd Fellows hall in Gold H ill w ill be the mecca of all the children of the Gold H ill community and a m ajority of the grown-ups, Christmas eve, for the long-awaited visit of Santa Claus. A fine program is being planned by committees from the Odd Fellow and Hebekab lodges, and the chil dren of the entire community have been invited to take part in the event, which climaxes the Christ mas activities here. The coming of Santa Claus, with his pack filled with treats for all the girls and boys, w ill be the fea ture of the evening. The lodges extend a cordial invi tation to everyone to attend the fes tivities. Effective January 1st, I. O.
