Lumber Manufacturers Want NRA Principles to Be Observed The Western Pine association of Portland were advised last week of a resolution passed at the re cent Chicago meeting of the ex ecutive committee of the National Lumber Manufacturers association as follows: 1. “The Lumber Code included constructive provisions on wages, hours, conservation and fair trade practices which the lumber indus try desires to maintain. Earle, state insurance commissioner, with the result that the Oregon Insurance Rating Bureau has filed a new schedule making a substantial re duction in the rate on school build ings of the above classifications. Commissioner Earle feels that due to the better construction of school buildings in the past few years losses have been lowered to the extent that the reduction is merited. Charley Peining of Fresno, Cal ifornia, spent the past week on Fools Creek, returning to Gold Hill Friday afternoon. He plans Ito do some prospecting on the Black- well hills.
