CCC Camp Locations are h o llo w mg are lUc camps approv Approved for Oregon ed for Oregon: Oregon will have 67 civilian con servation corps camps and Wash ington 57, under the President’s ex panded CCC program, according to information recently received by the V. S. forest service, Portland, Oregon. This means an addition of 26 camps for Oregon and 22 for Washington. Twenty Washington camps and 27 Oregon camps will be retained in present locations. Of the total Oregon camps 36 will be national forest; 4 O and C, 2 state, 9 private land, 9 state parks, 1 national park, and probably 4 bio logical survey and 2 grazing im provement camps. In Washington, there will be 27 national forest camps, 2 state, 9 private land, 13 state park, and 6 national park camps. The information is official except as regards state and national park and grazing and biological survey camps, according to the forest serv ice. Personnel for the present camps is now being enrolled. That for ap proved camps will, it is expected, be enrolled within a few weeks with approximately 200 men to each camp. The employment period for *BALD? This idea of the experimentalists taking apart the American business structure in an attempt to recon struct it in a pattern more to their personal liking is working as ex pected. It doesn't work. Of course, the general idea of Bruin Trusters is to cure our trou bles some way, but they seem to show little regard for the patients. If one kind of medicine does not cure, just raise some more taxes and try another kind. It is time for the Brain Trusters to "stop and think” and not ignore the fact that I this country has had one hundred and fifty years of trials and reject ions of error in a system which has made this nation almost a para mount one. It must have something good in it. To impose a new sys tem, metaphorically speaking, with in a short time is too much of a strain for any national structure to stand without cracking somewhere. 71 Drivers Lose License« in March Forty-one drivers lost the right to operate motor vehicles on the highways of Oregon during the month of March as a result of con victions on charges of drunken driving, according to reports com piled by Earl Snell, secretary of state this week. A total of 71 revo cations and suspensions were made for all causes. Eleven of the drunken driving convictions were in Portland. In ad dition to the loss of license for op erating while intoxicated, seven other drivers were penalized by re vocations, three on charges of man slaughter, one for tailing to stop at the scene of an accident, and three for driving while license was re voked. Suspended licenses during March numbered 23, with 17 on cnarges of reckless driving, three for speeding, two for physical disability, and one for driving while license was sus pended.
