Mr. and Mrs. Don Dor man nnd children of Herlheod, Col orado, and Will Dorman of Seattle, Washington, will leave Saturday for Willetts, California, where they will hold a family reunion. II will be the first time in forty-five years that the four Dorman brothers have been together. 4th of July Blowout Novel features for the parade in Grants Pass al I la . in. on Ihe morn ing of July 4th are pouring in so rapidly that without a doubt this will be one of the greatest Fourth of July celebration» ever held in Southern Oregon. Plenty of lively music will pep up the parade as the floats and en- .ranis march through Ihe streets of Ihe city. The Ashland Kiltie Legion land, Medford Legion drum corps, Boseburg Legion drum corps, Klam ath Falls Legion drum corps and the Eagle drum corps and drill team of Grants Pass will furnish music for the event. In addition the state grange champion drill team from Central Point and drill teams from granges in Josephine county will be in the line of march. The monstrous parade will be headed by members of Ihe Grand Army and patriotic organizations. Besides the floats every entrant in the day’s program will also parade. These will include GCC camps, 100 oresl fighters, fool racers, swim- ners, bathing beauties. National Guards, Legionnaires, baseball play ers, wrestlers, clowns, cowboys and ?owgirls, bicycle riders, water hose fighters and others, all in costume. The Siskiyou National forest will have about 100 men with fire fight ing equpment in the parade. This will be interesting to people that have never seen this sort of display. After the parade the scene of events will shift to the spacious park on the banks of Ihe Rogue where various swimming events will take place. There will also be a life saving demonstration and bathing beauty contest. Between noon and two o’clock the coronation of tahe Queen of the iavenien will take place. This will je followed by an address by Colon«»* Tandy of veteran facility, Boseburg. A baseball game will take place at the fairgrounds during the aft ernoon. Later in the afternoon the wate* fight between two teams composed of members of the city fire depart ment will take place. A rock drill ing contest and gold panning con ies! are other features. All miners of this community .ire invited Io enter the rock drill ing and gold panning contests. En trants are urged to send Iheir names to The Grants Pass Chamber of Commerce or Io M. A. Martin, general chairman. The big fireworks display at the fairgrounds at nine in the evening is expected to attract many. The f*eginn committee has spent a large sum on this event. A horseshoe pitching tournament, under state tournament rules will lake place on Ihe park courts dur ing the afternoon. There will also be a wrestling show and an old-time and modern dance to top off the day's festivities. The dances will be held at the fair grounds. The Legion committee stated this week that entries for all events were coming in so fast that with out a doubt this w ill be the out standing Fourth of July celebration ever held in Southern Oregon. I. O. O. F. LODGE N E W S Grand Master, Chas. Poole of Eu gene. Oregon, visited Central Point lodge No. 193. I. O. O. F. Monday evening and he gave a very inspir ing address. He is very optimistic and thinks Odd Fellowship will have a busy year. Those who went from Gold Hill were Paul Thomp son, D. D. G. M,; W, W. Hittle, N. G.; Floyd Lunce, Earl Moore and Toney Ross.
