Steamer Service Via Crescent City Starting on January 17 Establishm ent o f a new steam ship service in to and from the port o f Crescent C ity, C a lifo rn ia , was an nounced Monday to the M edford Chamber of Commerce by C C Thompson, resident agent fo r the MacCormaek Steamship company, w h ich w ill operate the new service beginning Tuesday, January 17. The new service w ill include w eekly schedules between Crescent C ity and Seattle, Tacoma, P o rtland, San Francisco Bay cities, and San Pedro. Mr. Thompson has been in Med fo rd fo r some tim e co n fe rrin g w ith shippers and receivers o f fre ig h t, in the interest o f the establishm ent o f the coastwise service, and his an nouncement to the chamber of com merce was the result o f a conference o f o ffic ia ls o f the steamship com pany, held in P o rtla n d last week. According to the in fo rm a tio n releas ed. the service w ill include w eekly calls at the no rth e rn C a lifo rn ia port fo r the present, w ith more frequent trip s as the business increases.
