Following the arrest, about noon, the officers, who were Sheriff Jennings, Deputies Paul and l.ewis Jennings, Cldtus McCredie, and Terry Talent, spent the rest of the day traversing the expanse of the 300 acre farm in an uttempt to locute a still. The emptying of the supply of liquor at the approach of the officers was supposed to have been accom plished by the housekeeper by |wur ing it into the pumping trough and Hushing it away by pumping water briskly Into the trough. The officers were forced to wn,k because o f the muddy condition of the road to the house thus giving the woman plenty o f time to destroy the evidence of liq u o r p o s se ssio n . Two rifles, promptly taken by the Sheriff were found in the house. Jennings, the farmer, showed no re sistance when put under arrest.
