The ballot box in the Piano contest was delivered to the
judges ?t 1:00 o'clock Monday anti the standings determined.
Mis< Pearl Shanks received the $10.00 in gold with a m artin of
only 12' votes. So close was this vote that a recount was made
between Miss Shanks and Miss Tyyne Lyman. Miss Lyman just
entered the contest and will have to be reckoned with, as her
gift of push and energy is getting her a heavy vote.
The leaders'are all holding about the same position, but
mdCng a steady increase. The votes have never gotten very
high and any lady with a five or ten year subscription will make
a c npiete change in the order they stand. Some one will be
s irpr.s 1 in this manner unless enough yearly subscriptions and
m ?i\ hant coupons are secured.
We are now on the last lap in the race and there is a beauti­
ful
ino at stake, besides other small prizes— so hustle the
