Tho aliovo is hardly a fuir statement of tho case. This industry of milling whoat is admittedly not in as satisfactory a condition as it might bo named. Ono of tho largost, if uot tho largest flour ing mill in this State, engaged almost wholy iu manufacturing Hour of for eign trade, and conducted by an incor porated company, has been paying reg ular dividends, which is a refutation of tho statement that Hour is cheaper than wheat. It also refutes tho declaration that we havo no European market, for nbout h i'i f our cxportod Hour goes to (iie.u liritau. Tho ido.i that Europe obtains wheat cheaper in Australia and India than iu America, will uot hear tho test of reason. If such wero tho case, American wheat would Hud a foreign markot only after tho supplies of India and Australia had been totally absorbed. It is too woll known to nocd mora than mention that wheat from this country is no more neglected in Europe- than wheat from any othor portion of tho globe, re gardless of supplies in India or else whore. Tho world's supply with other contingencies, regulates tho production of all countries being brought relatively to tho samo level iu tho samo market. If there is a difference in quality, and not simply on account of tho wheat be ing raised iu this or that country. American wheat commands moro in Europe than India wheat, becauso its intrinsic valuo is greater. If tho reverse wore tho case, our whoat would have to be sold for less. Producers in Australia and India can, from authentic accounts as illy afi'ord to furnish their who.U to Kuropo at present prices, as can tho pro ducer in thia country, and tho former would bo as quick to axact an advanoa as tho latter, vfhonew an opportunity was presented. Tho year 188G played sad havoc with many prominent men of our country. Many of them died without warning, pushing n way apparently in the full Hush of life. Others wero sick but a comparatively short time. Wo turn to our Hies and are iibtonishcd to iind that most of them died of apoploxy, of paralysis, of nervous prostration, of malignant blood humor, of Ilrighl's disease, of heart disease, of kidney disease, of rheumatism or of pneumonia. It is singular that most of our promi nent men dio of thoso disorders. Any journalist who watches tho telegraph re ports, will bo nsftnished at tho number of prominent victims of these disodors. Many statements havo appoarod in our paper with others to tho oiTect that tho disoasos that carried off so many prominent men in 1880, aro really ono disease, taking different names accord ing to tho location of tho fatal affects. Whon a valuablo horso perishes, it be comes tho nino day's talk of tho sport ing world, and yet thousands of ordinary horsos aro dying every day, their aggre gate loss is enormous, and yot their doath creates no comment So it is with individuals. Tho causo of death of promiuont men croates com ment, especially when it can bo shown that ono unsuspected disease carrios off most of thorn, nnd yot "vast numbers of ordinary men and women dio beforo thoir titno every year from tho samo cause." It is said if tho blood is kopt f rco from uric acid, that heart disease, paralysis, norvous prostration, pneumonia, rheu matism, and many casos of consump tion, would never ho known. This urio acid, wo aro told, is tho wasto of tho systom, and it is tho duty of tho kidnoys to rcmovo this waste. Wo aro told that if tho kidnoys aro maintained in perfect Health, tho uric, kidnoy, ucid is kept out of tho blood, and theso suddon and universal diseases causod by urio acid will, in a largo meas ure disappoar. Hut how shall this bo dono? It is folly to treat o floe Is. If thcro is any known way of gotting at tho causo, that way should bo known to tho public. Wo bolievo that Warner's safo euro, of which so much has boon written, and so much talked of by tho public generally, is now rccognizod by impartial physicians aud tho publio as the ono specific for such diseases. Wo cannot see how Mr. Wnrnor could immediately benefit tho publio in any othor way, and his valuablo specific should uot bo con demned bccnu8o somo nostrums have come boforo tho publio in tho samo way, any moro tuan mat nil doctors siiouiu bo condomued becauso so many of them aro incompetent. It is astonishing what good opinions you hear on overy sido, of that great remedy, and publio opinion thus based upon an actual experience, has all tho weight andimportuncoot absolute truth. At this timo of tho year, tho uric acid in tho blood invites puoumonia and rheumatism, and there is not a man who does not dread thoso monstors of dis- easos ; but ho need have no fear of thorn wo aro told, if ho rid tho blood of tho urio acid causo. Thoso words uro strong, nnd may sound like an auvertlsment, and bo re jected us such by unthinking people, but wo bcliovo they are tho truth, and as such should bo spoken by overy truth loving newspaper.
