of Sonoma county, has loached Now
Orleans fair, and is already exciting
fnvorablo comments. Anothoi Grango
effort in tho samo direction, is that of
tho National linnok Grango. Mrs. Flora
"W. Kimball gives iu tho Patron a littlo
sketch of what that exhibit consists of:
It was nicoly packed in forty-flvo boxes,
tho following being tho list of products :
Thirty-fivo varieties of applos, oight of
pears, twenty-two of jellies, olives in
bottles nnd in ton, five, nnd threo-gallon
kegs; Japaueso persimmons, quinces,
grapes and raisins. In glass, six varioties
of grapes, guavas, figs of several kinds
and Japaneso persimmons. A beet
weighing ono hundred and two ponnds,
and an ostrich egg from tho San Diogo
ostrich farm weighing nearly threo
pounds, woro each allotcd a box. Corn,
rye, wheat, barloy, onts both wild and
cultivated, buckwheat, evorgrocn raillot,
Egyptian corn, castor beans wild and
cultivated, beans, peanuts, English wal
nuts, paper shell almonds, jiwect and
Irish potatoes. Wild grasses and ferns
wcro carefully arranged nnd packed for
thdiflong journoy. Orange, lemon and
limo trees in bearing, a coffco treo in
blossom and a cinchona treo aro being
packed for tho oxhibition. Honoy will
soon follow and a display of citrus fruits
. in their season.
