50,000 Imlos for export, but had only
10,000, and will not havo moro this year.
Now York has -15,000 bales short of last
year. J no lMcitic coast was put down
at 75,000 bale", but owing to various
causes thousands of bales wero spoiled
in Oregon and Washington, so tho crop

llvo years back stocks of yearlings havo
never been so short us now. Whilo this
is true, misstatements aro boing niatlo
against growers, stating that hops aro
plenty and prices must rulo lower.
Dealers want to buy tho crop at priccw
far below valuo.
This statement is plain, and if tho

cannot ho denied. If hop growers havo
not yet sold their crop it will bo worth
their whilo to hold 011 to it and tee what
tho result will bo.
Wo quolo nbovo what thoy say about

short of hops and that tho scarcity will
insuro a good prico beforo tho season is
much older. This week wo visited the
warehouse of Messrs. Popo it Hcdding,
this city; thoy havo a thousand bales
storod and expect to havo fivo hundred
moro noon. Those gentlemen havo
taken great interest in tho hop tr.ulo and
intend in future to dovoto themselves
moro especially to it. Wo aro surprised
to Uurn that not over 500 bales of Or
01(011 hops havo yet been sold, and tho

has been largo, somo yards in Marion

county gavo 2,800 lbs to tho noio. Tho
averago yield in Lano county was 1,500
