neighborhood of twenty-five days.
The new steamship Coos Bay, of 191
tons burden, Captain Harkius, cruised
about'Son Francisco bay to S.iucelito, on
her trial trip, behaving in every way as
was expected of her. The Coos Bay was
launched on tho Coquillo about two
months ago, and is intended to run in tho
trade between San Franciico and Coos
bay.
Tho Pioneer Oil Mills of Salem will
commence operations tho first of next
month, with a large supply of flaxseed
in store, bolides about thioe thou'and
bushels hold over from lat year. This
year's crop h very large and the company
will have no difficulty in securingcnougli
seed to keep their mills constantly busy
through tho entire milling season.
It is estimated that tho who it yield of
Minnesota for this year will exceed that
of last year by 1,119,000 bushels, an in
crease of 10 jwr cent.; the corn crop will
yield from 20,000,000 to 25,0000,000
bushels, tho barley ciop will produce 7,
000,000 bushels, the largost ever Hiown
