L. Bowes & Bro. the fol lowing remarks with regard to markets abroad to show tho remarkable strength of them, particularly as regirds fine qualities, under date of Liverpool, March 10. Confidence is reviving in business circles under the inspirit ing inuueiice oi miguiiicenc spring weather, Boston Wool Market. COMMERCIAL. Thursday, April 13, 18S2. The weather continues favorable, and far men are pushing their work vigorously. All the indications uro a proiniso fur good crops, both east ami west of tho Cascades, Mr. Msthiot, of Walla Walla, formorly of French Prairie, says farmers in the upper country generally Boom satisfied with their prospect, .The wluW saw mora rain than usual, and there have been recent rains to render al most certain tho prospect for good yield. Tbeir grain is all iu, and half of it so advanc.d that it will till perfectly in any caso, and one good shower in early May will mako all of it plump ana good. I eopio, east ol tho moun tains, eeom to think their climate grows more fsvorablo to grain farming, as cultivating tho (oil seems to result in more regular rainfall. California also has hadApriUhouers.andthcy claim that their harvest is suro to bo good. East of the Cascades they anticipate having 25 per cent, more wheat surplus for 18S2, than thty had in 1881, This valley will probably turn out aa iiiujIi as last ) ear. During tho week there has been no new ar rival, save ono small vessel that was off tho lur, that came in. There aro two more ships now otT the bar, and thoso will mako 7 voisels seeking cargo. They demaud tiOs per ton, but there haru been no eharteis mado in a Week, Tlio exporters offer 62s (Id. Sib'Oii, Church A Co. say they havo news that a cargo that sold Tuesday in England, brought $1 50 per ton less th.ui ono sold tho week previous; prices are weaker, as a cousc quv'nco. Tho curreut.ilguru fur wheat heie is It 02 J per cental, a tntl.i less than last uctk, Mr. R. C. tieer was telling at Salem, last Thursday, that he soht bis wheat from his Lome bin to tho lower nulls at Salem, so that jt netted him bit cents, t lulu tho current rates are 82 cents at jalvm. Proliably any farmer who has wheat on hand ran do better now with local mills, that need wheat to grind for their regular trade, than with expoitcrs, but there cannot bo much wheat remaining in first hands. In all important respects our local markets remain without chaugo from last week. Our price ourient represents th statu of trade. Spring upoui with uuususl activity iu all branches ol trade. Railroad buildut? is pushed in every direction, and if work shall not progress as rapidly as has U-en promised, t will ouly be because labor cannot be had to push it. We quote freely from New York and San Francisco commercial papers, giving impor tant market particulars. The wool iparkct holds up fairly. Wool grower have a certainty that their great sta ble will command a good price. Attention is callvi to our quotations for furs. Hound lots cau be sold for an advance pn these rate wlieu brought to this city and the dealers niaile to bid up. There doc mot term to be as much activity at last jvar Bostov, April 11. Tliero is no improve ment in tho wool market. Tho demand in moderate and prices arc unsatisfactory. Ohio and Pennsylvania, 4243o for X and XX, with choice selections at 4445c; for Michi gan and Wisconsin florces, 40 tic for X, and in moderate demand. No. 1 fleeces range from 4540o for Michigan and Ohio. Delaine and combing selections aro quiet, with sales at 44a 48u for tine. Unwashed fleeces aro in modern'e dtmand at 25a30c for fine, and 30a35o for for i inn, includii a choice selections. California wool is dull and sales aro unimportant. Stock is mostly of low ami defect lvo wools, for which thoro ii very little demand. Liverpool Breadstuff's Market. California Crops and Markets. From (lie bin Krumtan Coniinirilal Herald. Tlio wcatlur contimns propitious in every way for a favorable outcome for tho next har vest, and (his means everything in a financial point of view to all tho industrial, mechani cal and commercial put suits of the whole coast. Encouraging icports como from all sections. The southern counties par ticularly aro waking up, and largo purchases of land, especially for viucynula, aio being con stantly made. Inquiiics by intending immi grant; aro on tho increaso, showing tint our State is gaining wider and nioro favorable no ticu than for years past. Since tlio dry, heated term of last week we havo had an equal quantity of moist, cool weather the past few days, and although we have had but little raiu horo in the city, many dry sections inland ha e been favored with heavy April showers, carrying joy and llladutss to tlio husbandman, giving, as it uoes, renewed assurance oi nountilul crops the coining seuson. Tho free arrival of deep water ships the past few days, with lessened freight rates, occasions a good, steady export demand for No. 1 White Wheat, upon the liasis of Jl UO per cental. At this writing there are 24 ships iu the stream loaded with wheat and watting for crows. Some will prob ably secure men out of recent arrivals, but many will bo dotained for weeks, as it will take upwards of 300 men to cou.pleto their complement. The seaicity of seamen has been ii serious drawcack 1 1 mtr grain-ladcncd licet for some time past, and operates prejudicially to tho trade. Sowral of the ships at hand come in with previous graiu charters alwve current rates. Wo quote spot charters nominal at 57s iMGOa lor wood and iron respectively. These uro asking lates, while shippers offer 2s 0d le. It seems rather early in the season for one to dispose of the next grain crop, but the Sut ter hrwr is authority for the statemeut that a farmer named Cale, in that county, has en gaged his growing crop oi w heat and barley at l 50 per cental lor tho former, and $1 20 for the latter, to be delivered in Yuba City. Tliero is a revival of interest iu beet-sugar manufacture on this cosst. It is reported that u party of experienced sugar beet growers from Sixonv iutend cnL'seiniMii that iu.lmtrv ou a Urge scale iu Los AnL-eles couutv. Some laud will raise as high as forty tout of beets tJ the acre, wl ile the average is from fifteen to twenty-five tous, tho price of which range from ft 23 to $4 50 per too. rimes vv e quote as follows i Heavy salted which, following a Winter extremely favorable for agricultural purposes, gives promise of a successful hat vest. The voluniu of business is very fair at present, and any sensible in crease would result in activity. The auctions of Australia progress wjthepirit, the coinpe- n nun ueing especially gnoa ior me nest anu most perfect merino wool, which year by year iorm a smaller proportion oi ine wnoie. ilie bulk of the wool offered is defective and burry, shriukine 58 to CO per cent, and sellinz at U12d. We believo in getting up the wool well, hav ing it cleaned washed so that each year a man can sell his clip by its general reputation with buytrs. Let buyers right shy of heavy clips year after year, and that will be the best vvay to mako that clip a lighter one in good time, Tlio wool most wanted for a few years at leasu are me long stapled nuo wool, bait olooil 1 1 fivo-eiehts blood, and of lenzth to comb. and they comb shorter wool now than they once did fine wool generally. With coarse wool we fear demand will not bo extra good for inmo time to come; the coarser, the worse the demand. There has never been a season where the woolen goods trade was so healthy that man ufacturers were able to purchase their stocks so cheaply without any concerted action shown to depress prices, espacially when it is evi dent that supplies all along, as a rule, have been inadequate to the wants of producers, and yet money has not been scaice or dtar. Nothing short of tho conservatism shown in purchising wool could have served to keep the vwoi iruuu iu so sioauy and uniiorm condition, and it is hoped that manufacturers will hesi tate before they depart from a policy which has served their purposes so well. Hodge, Davis & Co., havo con tracted to publbn two new one.s each week for the year ending April 1, 1883, that all our readers may sec the great benefits it has con ferred on the afilicted. Iniiei'EMjexce, Or., Dec. 13, 1870. isotti myself and wilo have been lor fome years afilicted with disease of the Kidneys, and had tried many remedies without obtain ing any pcrmancntrelief. About three months ago' we were induced to try a package of the Oklrox Kiiixey Tea, which has appar ently entirely cured both of us, as since tak ing it two weeks wo have felt no symptoms of the disease. We can heartily recommend it to others similarly afilicted, as wo believe it will do all that is claimed for it. M. L. White. Astoria, Or., Dec. 2S, 1870. I take J leisure in testifying to the merits of the Oregon Kidney Tea For the past three years I have been suffering from Kidney troubles, and during the time have tried nearly every kind of Kidney medicine in the market, almost without any relief. Having heard that tho Oregon Kidney Tea pos ssesstd wonderful properties, I puichosed a package, and from the first dose obtained re lief, and by the use of the .one package feel completely cured. While passing through St. Joseph, Mo., and having heard a great deal about the World's lipiloptio Institute located here, 1 concluded to pay the celebrated institution a short visit. We were met by Dr. Richmond, the proprietor, who has gaintd a reputation as broad as tho land, ile is a lather small, yot prepossessing man, of very atfablo "and gentlemanly manners.
