The people who hold wheat seem to lw ac quiring considerable ihackbono of late, as we hear that buyers nro offering $I.'M and holders are askltiii M0 wr cental for valley, and Ihere la scarce any Eastern to offer. In this tate of affairs there has been nothing donu and transactions havu hevu at a standstill. Throughout all tho territory of Oregon ami Washington reports are encouraging as to the cutlook for crops. Even in the- southern ami astern sections, where tho long dry spoil did ome harm, reports are very encouraging. While early grain that wan damaged by the drouth and frosts cannot bo made to recover II it lost in some instances, mid wn hear, even In the valley, of fluids heading small and that re not filling well, still Fall grain will mako a c,ool average and Spring grain that had a good start promiso to outyield the average of Fall sown w heat. We occasionally have a year when Sprint; wheat docs lieltcr than Full a own, and this is such a year. On French Prairie, near (Icrvais, wo see soma fields of Fall grain that jointed so early that frosts and north winds seem to liao blighted them, but in the hills near Salem, and aUiwhere on the prairies we have seen wheat actually turning yellow and that looks as if It equalled the liest year we have ever known. Take the whole region tributary to (he Columbia and we have a promise of good crops, and in some districts Rut much lwtter crop than they harvested last year, Hardens have sulloreil from the continued cool weather tiul are later than was expected. Fruits generally w ill be a fair crop, though we hear of orchaids that mako little show, and constant frost up to Juno I, must have done harm, The apple louse is in the field again, though we do not hear that its presence is as general, or as disastrous, as last year. New Texaa Wheat Nkw Viiiik, Juno 22. -The first new Win ter wheat from thu South arrived yesterday, and was sold by publionuction at tho produce exchange. The wheat wo grown in the vic inity of Fort Worth, Texas, and was from there shipped to St. Louis, where its market price was established at SI. 3.1 per bushel. The berries were small, as is usual with Texas wheat. It compared favorably with last year's crop. It brought $L3A a bushel, there being little competition fur it. There were a hundred sacks in the lot, forty-five which are to be shipped to Pnrris, and the re mainder to England, CALIFORNIA CROPS AND MARKETS. Brit ish iron ships near at hand are held at M)s, and the last spot engagement for wheat (a re charter) 7He tM. The fleet to arrive in all this yer is .120,000 tons regirter, same date last year, 1C0,000 tons, and iu 1870. 1.13,000 tons. The outlook continues good for high freights during the Summer and Fall, Harvesting has now become quite general throughout the Statu. The barley plant was less than last year and the yield will lie pro ortinuatcly less, and this fact adds new strength to the market, with an advance in rate of feed. The w heat crop is ginning out liui'ly, the grain rilling up plump and of Hue color. The quality will lw win better than last year, though the quantity will be some what less. Encouraging accounts reach us from nearly eery wheat growing district of the State. No one in the business estimates our surplus for export less than l00,000 tons, and others who have nil along insisted upon our having Msj.000 tons surplus, remarked to us eaterday that they had raised their figures to 1,000,000 tons, based upon the extraordina rily heavy yield ami plump quality of tbu grain now being harvested ami brought into market on sale. The Produce Exchange have issued circulars calling upon farmers, ware housemen, eto to report stocks on hand July 1st, urging upon all great care in their en deavors to get at the exact figures of stock of all kinds of grain in storo July 1st proximo. There is scarcely a doubt but that the figures w ill exhibit a stock of not less than 000,000 tons of old wheat. The Boston Wool Market. IhivniNi June 21.
