'1 hero nro two kinds of red clover, namely,

It is splendid for con a. J should say that

I sco by recent nrlielcs In Hid volley papers
that tho farmers of our Stato nro still in

Xow, 1 can add my testimony to tho cfucaey
of C 1'. Ilurkhart's prescription for that de
rangement, ni given in a recent number of
tho Farmer, to-wit: Salt and salcratua. Oivo
thcop plenty of this rcmo ly nil through tho

About twenty years ago my sheep wcro
troubled with what proved to bo kcclics on
their lhcr. Many of them died and many
moro doubtless would havo died had I not
met a brother farmer from Linn county, who
told tno his sheep had been affected with
leeches on tho liter, but ho had found n suro
remedy, which was to givo tho sheep nil tho
salt and Balcratus they would consumo during
Spring, Summer anil Autumn. I began using
tho remedy at onco. My sheep wero noon
free from any nppcnr.uico of discaso of any
kind, and havo been healthy cvor since.
Though I still tiso tho nalt and mlcr.Uus

About nix or seven years ngo, finding miny

euro leeches oi tho liver of cheep, I sent to
tho Wtit.AMirrrr. Fauulr nn account of my
observations and experience lu the euro of
this derangement which was published at tho

to almost every county In the Union. Aud
yet many armors and men of rekneo aro
still trying to find n suro remedy for this
derangement in sheep. I am inclined to
think tho remedy is too simple to attract
general attention. Had it como from soma

IMitor Willamette Fannin
Fncloscd yo'u will find u sample of lint gath
ered from hop vines. This samplo was taken
from tho bottom of n pllo of hop polca that
had tho vines on them. When it is rotted
properly tho lint is very light. I am not pre
pared to say how it should bo treated, but
think that it should havo moro timo than
flax. It should bo cut two and a half or
thrco feet long. Tin hop sines will havo to
bo taken from tho poles boforo sotting agsiu;
small children can cut thu vines tho proper
length and place them in bundles, for which
ou can give tho children something, such as
a dress, n pair of nice shoes orabouuet, which
you would perhaps have to get, nml thus
stimulate tho young to labor nud causing
them to mnko their mark in the world, help
them so they w 111 stay on the farm when they
gut older. Thoro aro thousands of tiounds of
hop lint going to waste in this Statu and it it
easily sat cd after the lues have been raised
for tho hops. Now tho question in If jou
can turn them to better account than to let
them rot ou'tliu ground for manure? I thiuk
