A Saturday Matinee. Tbo Gallows Choated of a Victim Two will bo Bent to tho Happy Hunting Ground next Saturday. On tho morning of November 1st, at 9 o'clock, the samu day that tho Monu '"ental Mill turned iU wheels for tho urftiuii i-, w.u vuicu in ", Kiun. Salooskin nnd Tweone. Indian ' prisoners in tho Yakima City jail, at tempted to umko their escape. Jailor York was louglily handled and pierced with a bayonet, but ho succeeded in escaping to tho outside. The murderers were under a death sentence- and were , -. , tf woundinir each, and Twcono fatally. They were driven to their cells, where their wounds were dressed but Tweone sank and died, cheating tho gallows of a worthy subject. Tho others are all right and on Saturday next will stretch hemp with their necks. The murder of the Perkins family, jerpetrated by these vil lains, was tho most horrible of any dur ing thCir campaign of depredations and crime, me poor woman wno was en ciente. was placed in a pit and covered pit with heavy stones allowing her head and shoulders to project abovoground.and left her to linger in horrible pain until liberated by death. Her cries of an guish should havo turned thoso heavy stones to tears and freed her from the death which came only after many hours. Her prayers and pleadings should have caused the God in Heaven either to send her nssistanco or striko her dead so as to end tho suffe ring of herself and unborn babe, but it was not so willed. With her husband shot to death lying before her eyes she watched tho lower ing vulture' as ho wheeled above her head only waiting for the last great pain which would burst her heart strings and freo tho tortured spirit from its bruised tenement of clay, when the feast would begin. Such fiends as theso de serve net tho comparatively honorable death on the scaffold. Tho tortures of hell itself were elysian fields compared to that whi:h they deserve, anil o 'en tho tenderest heat ted, after knowing of the cold blooded crime they committed, could see them burn at tho stake and laugh at their screams of torture. One of these fiends has gono before and on Saturday next the other two will follow. WIIAMETTE' FARMER: Annual Koport.
