of tho Fakmi:r. Much evldenco of
tho Hiifllcloncy of vegetnblo food has
been presented by different writers,
but often the ovidonco seems to bo far

but one bearing the best Interest of
mankind. It is a subject having direct
reference to health and consequent
prosperity. Can a person who has used
flesh, null und all tbo refined combina
tions of fat by way of shortening in a
hundred ways, become so accustomed
to do without them that there will be
no craving for tho same for seasoning ?
What immediate effect, if any, will be
observable to those adopting a vegeta

The following Is an interestlug case of a
man employed in an Iron Foundry, who, In
pouring melted Iron into a flask that was
damp and wot, caused an explosion. Tbe
melted Iron was thrown around and on him
In a perfect shower, and ho was burned
dreadfully. The following certlllcato was
given to me, by him, about olgbt weeks after
the accident:
New York, Jan. Iu, 1806.
My name Is Jacob Hardy; I am an Iron
Founder. I was badly burnt by hot iron In
November last; my burns healed, but I had
a running sore on my leg that would not
heal. I tried Holloway's Ointment and It
cured me in a few weeks. This is all true,
and anybody can see mo at Jackson's Iron
Works, 2d Avenue.
