Clark's stoie is a well arianged cue, and furnishes goodd to a Urge number of well-to-do aud Industrious farmers who live near here. Within the last fdw daye I have travelled oxtensivoly in this county, (Douglas) aud am pleased to report tho farmers actively plow ing their fields and sowing their fall uraln. Many hundred acres ot oals will he put in belore tho week is out, iu jiits county. Sluce writing you last, I have had the pleasure of uteo'.tng with our old neighbors ilie Dennys, lotif residents of Marion county. They, Fletcher aud Louis, have bought a farm within a mile of CtkUud, near the railroad track, aud seem to be well ploased with Ihe country. Mr. Denny thinks he w ill like this country very much and is hero to stay. John A. Hunt, of the Waldo HUN, has bought a farm about eight miles Irom Oik land, noar tho head of Camas swale, and his many friends will be glad to learn that he aud his family aro well. John has one of the most delightful farm iu tho Umpqna country. I had tho pleasure of a visit at his place, and there I also met my young friend Tnomas Humphrey, of the Waldo Hills, who hn come out to try this locality awhilo. We have had lovely weather for a fort. night, but just now we ure threatened with a southern blast which will bring on He Kings enough of rain to do us all winter.
