The financial planks of the two po . litical parties, In tho different States, are sloshing about in a ludicrous man ner. It must bo difficult for the pro icwiomil politician to tell Just which one he should seat himself upon with a decent liopo of salvation. In Pennsylvania tho Republicans nay: " Free banking, a safo and uni form national currency adjusted to the rowing wants of tho business interests Zt thu country, and a steady reduction f the national debt." And tho Democrats say: we demand that tho volume of tho currency bo made atid kept equal to tho wants of im ft-mlo. lnsivintr the rosiorauon oi legal tenders to par with gold to be brought about by promoting the indus tries of tho people, not by destroying them." In Ohio tho Itepublcans say: " That tho policy of finance should bo steadily pursued which, without unnecessary shock to business or trade, will ulti mately equali.o the purchasing capa city of tho coin and paper dollar." And tho Democrats adopt the plank of their brethren of Pennsylvania. In Maine say tho Republicans: A .eound currency based on coin, and re deemable in coin, is essential to tho mrnaiH.rinr nf thn nconlc. wc there fore approve ail judicious legislation looking to that end." And tho Democrat.- " A sound cur rency, coin or its equivalent, esscntiid to stability in business, and a restora tion of prosperity; steps toward specie payments, and no steps backward." Minneiota Republicans: "That on lio tirmiilnnnt. (UlcstinilS of the day WO favor that policy of finance which shall I steadily Keep in view wio return iu upeeio payments." Minnesota Democrats: " A return to cold and silver as a basis of the curren cy or the country, with preparatory nnd effect ivo measures to secure the resumption or specieiaymoiits." Iowa Republicans: " Wo favor the arly attainment of a currency conver tible with coin; and therefore advocate tho gradual resumption of specie pay ments bv continuous and steady steps in that direction." , , Iowa Democrats: "Wo arc in favor of tho resumption of specie payments a snoii im Ihn sntno can bo dono with out Injury to the business interests of tne country anu maintain u suuiciumi. supply of national currency lor ousiness purposes. Opposition to tho national banking law." , , Wisconsin Republicans: "Wo favor tho early attainment of a currency con vertible with coin, and therefore advo cate tho gradual resumption of specie payments by continuous steps in that direction, in Mich manner as to disturb the business interests of the country as little as possible." Wisconsin Democrats: " Sound cur rency in coin, or Us equivalent." Maryland Democrats: " Wo protest against any Incieaso of tho circulating currency but demand that such meas ures be adopted by Congress which will lead to tho resumption of sjiecie pay ments at tho earliest possiblcynoment." New York Ilepublicaiih: " Further Jn'J iiuii of tho currency, under any pretence whatever, would bo u public calamity. Tho interests of honest in dustry and the common welfare de mand tho hpeedlest possible return to specio payments." " You pays your money, and you takes your choice." I'raivie Farmer. f rage of that State, as it does in Liverpool. For instance, while quotations from Califor nia have been given at ft 95(5,2 per cental, we have accurate knowlege that quotation received by Oregon wheat dealers have at the same time been sent as 2 02K2 05 far good Oregon wheat in that market. These things are important because the prices in Oregon are to a great extent governed thereby. A gentleman connected with a Liverpool house as its agent in Portland, informs u that if freights were reasonable at the pres ent time he could pay 91 80 per cental there for good averaire wheat, wbioh shows that Oregon producers must try to hold back their wheat for a white longer to keep freights within limits whero they can also do well. The Salem mills this morning are paying 92K cents per bushel for wheat. The Live-pool market is quoted at 55s for California. Oregon is always 1?. above Cal ifornia quotations. Foreign Produce Market. London, Oct. 4 The Mark Lane Ktqress in a review of the corn trade for the past weak, says the late heavy rains, strong breezes and reduced temperature have brought a wide exteut of land into readluess for the plow, and the opportunity has been freelv used here and in ltelnlum. We trust than the autumnal sowings will have a bet ter resu It than In 1874. The downward tend ency seems to have stopped. The country markets are firm, and in rome places prices advanced one shilling. Wheat Is higher at Ilantzig, and German markets are dearer. In Hungary firmness Is maintained.
