HAILE, Solano This Association was iucorpo rated with over EIGHTEEN HUNDBED STOCKHOLDERS, representing all tho various agricultural In dustries of the State. Its objeots are to transact a straightforward and thoroughly reliablo business, at specially favorable rates of commission, for all Patrons and farmers of the Pacific coast. The Board of Directors, upon duly organ izing, elected Mr. T. J. Brooke, (formerly ac tive President of tho Grangers' Union'of tho San Joaquin Valley, ) as businoss manager of tho Association. On the 1st of Jui.o, tho Association perma nently looated its ollloo and storehouse at No. ;151 MARKET STREET, ONE DOOR EAST OF FREMONT STREET, occupying three floors. The building is commodious and pro vided with an elovator passing from tho base ment to the uppermost story, Tho Association is now ready to make Bhip monts of grain for foreign and domestic ports, and roccivo consignments for sale of grain, wool, dairy products, fruit, vegetables and all other products of tho country. Wo would recommend, wherover practica ble, that farmers aggregate their wheat in tho hands of local corporations, or individual agents, in largo quantities, enabling uh at op portune times to sell in cargoes or round lots. This will enable uh to secure bolter prioes for each owner. Grain aud other staple products will be ru- eoived on storage, by the mouth or for tho sea son, and advances made 011 tho same. We will alHO till orders for graiu und wool sacks, agricultural implements, general mer chandise, wagons,' produce, household aud do mestic goods, etc. OuruoimectioiiHuith tho largest importerson tho coast ouablo lis lo till Hiuall orders for mer chandise on as favorable terms as largo ones. Our buslnossifor tho pnat six weeks (not withstanding that we laborid under many dis advantages for want of room), leads us to ant tlcipato a bright future, and wo earnestly so licit tho patronage ot tho Interior, for upon that our perfect shcivhi depends. Wo do a sttictly commission business, aud propose to place our rates of commission upon u fair legitimate Iiims that will enable the country at largo to trausact business through us to their entire satisfaction. There still remaius an opportunity for patties who are not stockholders to inbicribo to the capital stock in amounts largo or small, aud thereby become more deeply interested in our progress, and by no doinit enable, us to extend Action of Kucctdicity on Iiioh. Tho re markable phenomena (list ubsorved by Prof. Gore, which consists in very perceptible twisting of a bar of iron by tho joint effects of currents of electricity passim: longitudinally through, and ulsaaroaud such a bar by means of tho iutuUtod wiro of an euvelopiug helix, has been further investigated. Subsequent ex periments hare shown that Midi twisting may bo made to reach full oue-quartur of 11 revolu tion. It baa also beeu ascertained that both currents are necessary to the development of tho phenomena. Either curreut, whea up plied separately, simply produce the ordinary effect ol maguetiilug the bar. The direction of to twist U definitely related to the direction of the current in the helix. In order to pro duce the fullest effect, the currents mutt be simultaneous. When they 'are successive a perceptible twist results in a lesser degree. and enlarge our capacity for business, accord ingly. We would suggest to the different Granges, to appoint somo one to not as agent, through whom they can aggregate their orders for sacks or merchandise, saving us much time in mak-j ing purohuses, and themselves exponso in dray age and freight, and thereby enabling us to open an account with one instead' of many. ' Wo hope soon to hear from all Granges in tho way of orders and consignments, which will receive our immediate and careful attention. Consignments to be marked GRANGERS' BUSINESS ASSOCIATION, SAN FRAN CISCO. Stencils for marking will be furnished free on application. The attention of Patrons and farmers) is called to the following REPORT : Pursuant to letters of invitation of T. J. Brooke, Manager of the Grangers' Businoss Association of California, issued to the several Grange corporations of tho State on the 11th inet., a meeting was held on June 22d at their ofllce, at which tho following Graugo corpora tions were represented; Grangers' Business Association of Califor nia, Grangers' Union of San Joaquin Valley, Grangers' Bank of California, Grangers' Warehouse und Wharf Co., Antioob, Farmers' Co-oporativo Union, Autiooh, Farmers' Union of San Joso, Futmors' Storugo aud Commission Co. of Colusa, Grangers' Businoss Association of Dixon, Grangers' Business Association of Vis ilia, Merced Warehouse Co., Youutville Farmeis' Business Association, Grangers' Business Association of Ilia dsbnrg, Farmers' Mutual Insurauoo Co. , After a geneial consultation, the following resolution was unauiiuously adopted: litsolved, That it is deemed of imperative necessity that, tho several Grange incorpora tions of Callfom'a co-operate with tho "Grangers' Busiuess Association of California, " with aiow to concentrate and o utrulue the buying and selling of the farmers' necessaries and products; and that we will use our best efforts to have tho corpoiations we represent, and farmers generally, trausact their tmsiuoss with that association.
