the fact that a great deal of grain is
wanted while in transit, through had and
negligent sewing of hacks. A little care
bestowed upon the sewing of sacks after
being (Hied, would repay for tho extra
labor three fold. Thero ought nlso to be
mora care taken in selecting nauks. Last
season a lot of second-hand sacks was
Imported to this coast ; they looked tike
new sacks in tho bale, but when full of
grain great numbers of them were found
to bo rotten; and if handled once or twice
tho wastage Is Immense. Let tho farm
ers sojeet good, sound sacks, and, after
filling them, sew them up carefully, and
it Will save to the producers of this State
(and tlio producer has to pay for nil the
wastage) fifty thousand dollars per ea
