Yours, Jacoh Johnson, Deputy for Multnomah Co. kksolYtio.vs. Editor Wlllamrlte Firmer: At a mooting of Howell Pralrlo Grange, No. 69, of Patrons of Husbandry, on tiio 2Sth day of February, 1874, the following preambles ami resolutions were adopted : Whereas, tho manufacturers of farming Implements of Chicago resolved not to sell to Farmers' Clubs or Granges, only at re tall prices ; and, whereas, we believe the Intcrestof Oregon farmers would be better subserved by not trading with said man ufacturing companies or any other mo nopoly that will not give te Farmers' Clubs or Omngci equal privileges with agents who Import farm Implements or machinery Into our country; therefore, llesolved, That Howell Pralrlo Grange Is in full sympathy with Iowa and Illi nois State Oranges, and all other granges in their action towards tho manufactur ers of farming implement of Chlc.igo, ami nil other monopolies of HUu prin ciples. llesolved, That this Grange would cor dially Join with the granges of this State lu patronizing u manufactory of farming implements and machinery established at tho State capital, ornny other conven ient place, provided that said company will sell to us as cheap as we can pur chase like machines from any other com pany, as cheap as they will sell to agents or to any ami all companies who may purchase machinery of said manufactur ing company. Itesolved, That a cony of theo resolu tions bo seut to tho Wir.i.AMKTTK Far mer, with rec'iuest to publish. T. C. Shaw, Sec. pro tern. So.METHINd WAXTINa I.NSIDK. Some of the Oregon paper liave a deal to say about the Farmer's juitent inside, and, while wo feci much obliged to them for gratuitous advertising, we take tills occa sion to say to rcadcrd that it is a mistake to supposo that wo have taken nut a patent for tho "insldo" wo furulsh every week, and that any of tho news papers has a right to do tho flame. We succeed in putting something " Inside" our paper that brings us increased patronage mid popular favor, and It is a free thing for all our conteinporari'js to make their papers Interestlngand popular If they know how. It may bo possible that something is wanting "lusldo" those papers, Which they try to make up for by being Jealous of us. Wo hope It isn't so, hut it looks like It. - A SlIKHP Itkm or VAT.UI!. A young man named Wm. Ho tooK sonio pur fumed snap and made a good lather of It and rubbed them both with It, and then blindfolded the mother so that she could just see her way. She could not tell one from tho other, and raised them both. About tho 1st of February she brought another pair, and he had to repeat the process, and on tho 24th I saw the bllud removed aud all was right. So says 1. D. Prettynian.
