Cimliy and Dr. Tlinintii, were hung, except two, Hameho and .SIoux, whoso sentences weni commuted to Imprisonment for life. Tho linnglng took pluco at Fort Klamath. A lnrgo crowd of IndluiiH, four or Jlvo hundred In number, from tho Reservation and about, took pewltloii close around. From the plnco whero the MpinwH and papjiooses of tho condemned wore kept groan1! and moans and walling woro eontlniially heard, as they looked out for the last tltno on the living forms or the wretched brnvcH. Everything being ready the prisoners were oidered to mount the uealli)ld. Jtoston Charley led tho way, lllaek .llin, Hconchln and Captain Jack followed. They had all evidently made up their minds to dlegatne. Captain Jack looked tho woist of any, anil showed It-si of true grit. .Scouchlu was sullen and uncon cerned, lllaek .11 in a trllle delimit, and Uoston Charley seemed vicious and un repentant. Tho three prlvatesiletalled to Jiang the Indians stood leady to perform the terrible duly when ordered. Captain Jack barely showed signs of life after lie was swung oil', and lilaek Jim died easy. The Indians who were spectators groaned and howled fora few minutes, and their looks showed they treaded that mode of death. In about a 'juitrter of un hour the four were pro nounced dead, mid not long after the bo dies were cut down, examined by the Uurgeous, mid then burled. llefore the execution a .Sheriffs ollleer from Jackson County made .application ujtoii General Whcatoufortheinunlrrers of the Iost Itlvurttettlers, but the appli cation was refused, as (lencral Whcatou had orders from IIuadquiirtcrH to dispatch tho savages to an appointed place In Wyoming Territory, under siillleleul guard, there to bo placed on n reservation.
