National Disability Employment Awareness Month Celebration to Take Place in Beaverton Oct. 16 National Disability Employment Awareness Month event held October 2014 “The Right Talent, Right Now” is the theme for the 2019 National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) that occurs each October since 1945. Success Event Coordinator at (503) 258-7715 or info@ amplifysuccess.org City of Vancouver Seeks Volunteer to Serve on Citizen Noise Advisory Committee The City of Vancouver is seeking applicants to fill one vacancy on the Portland International Airport (PDX) Citizen Noise Advisory Committee. Applica- tions must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18. The PDX Citizen Noise Advisory Committee is the official forum to address the community’s aircraft noise concerns. Local jurisdictions and the Port of Portland appoint members of the committee to repre- sent residential and business concerns within their jurisdiction. The City of Vancouver has two members on the committee. The PDX Citizen Noise Advisory Committee re- ports, in an advisory capacity, to the General Manag- Special Business Edition er for Airport Operations at PDX, through the Man- ager of Noise Management Office. The committee acts on behalf of local cities and counties to: • address community noise concerns • monitor and provide input on the implementation of the current PDX Noise Compatibility Plan • review airport noise issues and provide advice on issue resolution and follow-up action • enhance citizen understanding of airport noise management through the work of the committee as a whole • periodically brief the Port of Portland Board of Commissioners and the Vancouver City Council on the work of the committee The committee typically meets from 5:30-8 p.m. on the second Thursday of every odd numbered month at the airport. PDX provides dinner to members starting at 5:30 p.m. Eligible applicants must be Vancouver residents, and must be available for an interview with Vancou- ver City Councilmembers on Wednesday, Nov. 6. King County Elections, Seattle Seahawks and CenturyLink Field Announce Partnership to Drive Voter Registration and Voter Turnout With CenturyLink Field turning 18 years old — old enough to vote — this season, the Seattle Seahawks, CenturyLink Field, and King County Elections are have joined forces to engage Seahawks fans and voters across the region. The Seahawks and CenturyLink Field have partnered with King County Elections to promote the impor- tance of voting and voter registration throughout the season. On Sunday, September 22, King County Elections will host a voter registration drive at CenturyLink Field before the Seahawks vs. Saints game kicks off at 1:25 p.m. They will be located at both Touchdown City and in the north end of the stadium at Muckleshoot Plaza. In addition to voter registration, fans can stop by for giveaways and games. At the Seahawks vs. Ravens game on Sunday, Oc- tober 20, fans will be able to bring their voter ballot with them and drop it in a secure voter ballot drop box. Secure ballot drop boxes will be located just out- side the North entry gates, adjacent to the main park- ing lot, as well as in Touchdown City. Fans who drop their ballot on-site will receive a discount coupon for the CenturyLink Field Pro Shop.
