joy as the newest Ameri-
cans realize dreams that
were years in the mak-
ing. Many dress in their
best and pose for photos
while clutching Ameri-
can flags.
Macias, 31, said he’s
now glad to be able to
vote, have more stability
and live without fear of
being deported.
“It was important to me
to get the documentation
saying I was a citizen,”
he said. “I did get a little
emotional, because fi-
nally for me, the journey
was done.”

The Complaint Investigator position in the City Auditor’s
Independent Police Review (IPR) is responsible for in-
dependently investigating complaints made by commu-
nity members against the Portland Police Bureau. Duties
range from initial complaint processing, intake interviews
to establish the basis of an allegation, designing and con-
ducting investigations, and analyzing applicable prece-
dents and policies. A background in law enforcement or
criminal defense investigation is strongly preferred, but
not required. Investigative experience is required.

Metro, a metropolitan service district organized under the
laws of the State of Oregon and the Metro Charter, locat-
ed at 600 NE Grand Avenue, Portland, OR 97232-2736,
is hereby inviting sealed bids to replace the Lower Ser-
vice Road Generator, Middle Service Road & Vet Medical
Center (VMC) Service Road Feeders. Sealed bids are
due no later than 2:00 p.m., January 16, 2018 in Met-
ro’s business offices at 600 NE Grand Avenue, Portland,
OR 97232-2736, Attention: Julie Hoffman, Procurement
