Police Bureau Seeks Public Input on
Directives
The Portland Police Bureau directs member action
through the establishment of policy, procedure, and
rule, as found within directives. The bureau is in the
process of reviewing all of its directives and seeks
public comments.
Currently, the Bureau is asking for the community’s
feedback regarding the following directive(s): 333.00
Criminal Investigations of Police Bureau Employees.
These directives in 2nd Universal Review will re-
main posted with comments collected until Aug. 22.
Community members are encouraged to read this
directive at www.portlandoregon.gov/police/59757
and follow the link at the bottom of the draft to pro-
vide comments. This webpage also enables commu-
nity members to sign up for email notifications when
new or revised directives are posted.
Genealogical Forum of Oregon Hosts
Beginners’ Boot Camp
The Genealogical Forum of Oregon will host a be-
ginners’ boot camp from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 12 at
2505 SE 11th Ave., Suite B-18.
This full day of beginning genealogy will include
classes about census and vital records, immigration
and naturalization, discussions about genealogy soft-
ware and databases, organizing research and more.
Bring a sack lunch so discussion can continue while
participants eat. Attendees are encouraged to bring
their laptops, but it is not required. GFO members
may attend for free, non-members pay $20 at the door.

the fully staged
world premiere
of Mark LaPierre
and Eric Nordin’s
sweetly smart mu-
sical homage to the John Hughes generation.
Auditions will be held Aug. 17 and 18 from 3 to 7
p.m. at Artists Repertory Theatre , 1515 SW Morri-
son Street. Roles are open for 23 actors to play 16- to
18-year-old high school students. There are no adult
roles open. The production begins rehearsals in mid-
March and runs May 3-20, 2018. Auditioners should
prepare 32 bars of a pop song. Bring sheet music, a re-
sume, and a recent picture. Times are not assigned –
first come, first seen, until 6:50 pm. For details and to

come get help getting started on your resume with an
experienced volunteer available for 30-minute ap-
pointments.

Learn how to build a basic website using the
GoogleSites application.

iPad/iPhone Help*
iPad and iPhone basics, including great library
