The Mature Workers Job Club, a supportive small group
that focuses on maintaining a positive, action-oriented atti-
tude during job search, meets Thursday, June 19, 1:30 – 3
p.m. at the downtown WorkSource, 2024 3rd Ave, 2nd
Floor, Seattle.
The meeting is peer facilitated and can include guest
speakers and job search topics. Meetings are weekly and
include different topics to network and confidently look for
a job. This club is primarily focused of mature workers and

WeWork’s first open mic is this Thursday at 4:30 in the
First Floor Lounge, 500 Yale Ave. N. in their South Lake
Union location. Come enjoy performances by talented
members as well as local artists. Delicious food and an open
bar will be provided.

Seattle Parks and Recreation will hold sales of low-cost
life jackets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 21 at
Evans Pool, 7201 E Green Lake Dr. N.
Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional
injury death among children ages 1 – 14 years old.
The cost for life jackets sizes infant to youth large is $20,
and for teens to adult size XXXL, is $30. The life jackets
are comfortable, high-quality vests in fashion colors. All
sales are final -sorry, Parks cannot offer refunds or returns.
Parks will hold additional life jacket sales from 10 a.m. –
2 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, and Saturday, Aug. 16.
Parks offers this program in partnership with Seattle Chil-
dren’s Hospital, Mustang Survival, and the Coast Guard
Auxiliary.

Seattle Unveils ‘Skateable’ Public Art
at Jefferson Park on June 21
Seattle Parks and Recreation, Red Bull, 4Culture and pro-
fessional skateboarder Torey Pudwill are excited to unveil a
permanent art sculpture that is “skateable” by skateboards
in the northeast corner of Jefferson Park, which is located at
3801 Beacon Ave S, Seattle 98108.
The Red Bull Skate Space, designed for the City of Seat-
tle, will be opened in Jefferson Park on International Go
Skateboarding Day, June 21, 2014, 11 a.m.– 2 p.m. Pro
skateboarders Torey Pudwill, Ryan Sheckler, Felipe Gusta-
vo, Tom Schaar, Alex Midler, Ryan Decenzo and Joey
Brezinski will attend the unveiling.
Red Bull Skate Space will be permanently located in
Seattle’s Jefferson Park. Read Seattle’s skateboard plan at

Global Lens 2013: Films From Around
The World
The Seattle Public Library will host free screenings of
Global Lens 2013 films at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth
Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium.
The screenings are free and open to the public. Tickets
and registration are not required. Parking is available in the
Central Library garage for $5 after 5 p.m.
The Global Lens film series launched in 2003 to support
the distribution of unique and critically-acclaimed cinemat-
ic works from around the world.
