Portland’s original cornfield maze cele-
brates its fifteenth season at The Pumpkin
Patch on beautiful Sauvie Island, and to cel-
ebrate they are offering free admission to
those celebrating a birthday during the sea-
son.
The MAiZE attracts 30,000 eager explor-
ers annually to the giant labyrinth of field
corn, located just fifteen minutes from
downtown Portland. Portland’s premier
agri-tainment attraction, The Maize and The
Pumpkin Patch, have combined the local
food movement with down home fun on the
farm.
The MAiZE will open its pathways on
Saturday, Aug. 31, in conjunction with the
annual Labor Day Harvest Festival at The
Pumpkin Patch. This year’s harvest festival
will celebrate the abundance of the harvest
season with all kinds of family fun activi-
ties, including free hayrides and hay
pyramids, the animal barn, craft making,
music and the running of the popular cow
train.
Cost of admission is $5 for ages 6-12 and
seniors 60+, $7 for ages 13 and up, and
FREE for ages 5 and under. Discounts are
offered for groups of 25 or more with
advanced reservations. Special Admission is
free on your birthday with valid identifica-
tion, excludes Haunted MAiZE.
