OHSU Students Offer Free Health
Screenings for Uninsured,
Underinsured Oregonians
Animal Crimes
More than 100 Oregon Health & Science University student
volunteers will provide free health screenings to uninsured and
underinsured Oregonians during the university's annual “Health
Screening Fair.”
The annual fair is held with the weekly free meal service
“Potluck in the Park” in O'Bryant Square, Sunday, March 11, 9
a.m. and includes free:
Blood pressure checks
General medical exams
Medication counseling (bring prescriptions)
Vision and hearing exams
Diabetes screening and foot exams
Hygiene and first aid kits
Hair cuts
Dental exams, extractions and fillings
Pet care, including general exams, flea and de-worming and
vouchers to veterinary clinics to obtain vaccines
Women's health advice
Resources for homeless youth also will be available.

Muslim Leaders to Speak on Islamic
Traditions and Women’s Rights

Representatives from the Muslim community will speak March
11 and 18 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Port-
land, and share information about traditions and practices in
Islam.
Arif Humayun, author of “Connivance by Silence,” will speak
Sunday, March 11, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., about the many tra-
ditions of Islam.
The following Sunday, March 18, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., he will be
joined by Dr. Shanaz Tejani-Butt and they will speak together
about human rights in Islam and women’s rights. Both presenta-
tions will be in the Fellowship Hall of First Congregational
Church, 1126 SW Park Avenue, Portland.
The presentations are sponsored by First Congregational Unit-
ed Church of Christ, Portland, and the Circle of Peace. More

Center Plaza between 1st and 2nd on Main St. in
downtown Hillsboro.
