Speaker Sharif Abdullah talks on ‘Under-
standing and Transcending the Wounds of
Our Society.’ Dr. Abdullah is a renowned
educator, author, consultant and a leading
catalyst for inclusive social, cultural and
spiritual transformation. Dr. Abdullah
teaches groups to understand and practice
inclusivity—the connection with all beings.
His books include the award winning
‘Creating a World That Works for All.’
The event is Monday, Feb. 20, 6:30-8:30

Landlord Training in
Gresham
Vernon Food Drive
Gresham’s Community Revitalization
Program and Rental Housing Inspection
Program are hosting a free Fair Housing
Training for Gresham landlords. The work-
shop is Feb. 23 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Gresham
City Hall, Oregon Trail Rooms. The work-
shop covers everything a landlord or
property manager needs to know about fair
housing law relating to rental properties.
Fair housing is the name given to federal,
state and local civil rights laws that protect
individuals against housing discrimination
based on race, color, national origin, reli-
gion, sex, physical or mental disability,
familial status, marital status, sexual orien-
tation, source and level of income,
citizenship status, gender identity and age.
The workshop is limited to 60 attendees.
