Senior recreation Open
The Portland International Airport Citizen
Noise Advisory Committee will meet from
6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8 in the Anchor
Conference Room on the first floor of the
Port of Portland headquarters at 7200 NE
Airport Way. The community is encouraged
to attend, and public comment is welcome.
Meeting topics will include a discussion
of the noise management best practices sur-
vey, reviewing noise programs around the
U.S., and comparing them to PDX. The full

The committee is the Port’s official forum
for working with the community on issues
related to aircraft noise. Committee repre-
sentatives are from northwest Oregon and
southwest Washington. Eleven members are
appointed by various city and county juris-
dictions, and four representatives are
appointed by the Port in an effort to main-
tain geographic diversity on the committee.
Technical assistance is provided by the
Federal Aviation Administration and the
Oregon Air National Guard.

PP&R Senior Recreation is a series of
inexpensive, accessible and environmental-
ly sensitive programs and classes. They are
dedicated to ensuring access to recreational,
educational, and wellness opportunities for
adults ages 55 & better throughout Portland
and the surrounding areas.
Inexpensive classes and programs are
available at Portland Parks & Recreation
sites all across the city and include a huge
variety of topics.
For a one-time fee, golfers ages 65 and up
can obtain a card for reduced green fees at
PP&R courses. To obtain this card, bring
$10 and proof of age to the Rose City Golf
Course, 2200 NE 71st Ave., cross street is
Tillamook.
