soliciting bids for Bid Package #1 for the construction of
the Polk County Readiness Center in Dallas, Oregon.

The construction cost is projected to be approximately
$15.7 million.
The scopes of work being bid as part of Bid Package #1
includes all site/civil/structural excavation, U/G utilities,
site concrete, structural metal framing, structural steel,
and masonry work to support the construction of a new
36,000 sf Readiness Center with associated 4,000 sf
Maintenance Building. Exterior site upgrades to roughly
10 acres consisting of an asphalt parking lot and drives,
gravel POV overflow lot, gravel military access road, con-
crete paved military and service yards, underground util-
ities, storage tanks, mass excavation, and structural
excavation. Structural work will include metal stud fram-
ing w/ plywood sheathing at exterior / bearing walls,
structural steel and misc. metals, pre-manufactured steel
trusses, and CMU walls.
A mandatory pre-bid conference for all Earthwork
contractors will be held at the Polk County
Readiness Center Site on April 26, 2011 at 1:00 PM.
Site is located roughly 2 miles North of Dallas along
Kings Valley Highway (HWY 223) in an open field
accessed off of Westview Drive (adjacent to JW Fowler
property). This will be non-mandatory for all other trades
of work.

Straub Hall Deferred Maintenance and Seismic
Upgrade University of Oregon
The University of Oregon is soliciting qualifications from
architectural firms interested in providing design through
construction administration services for Straub Hall
Deferred Maintenance and Seismic Upgrade project on
the University of Oregon campus in Eugene, Oregon.
Briefly, Straub Hall was constructed in 1928-29 as a dor-
mitory and served as such until 1971 when the building
was converted into an academic building principally to
house the Psychology Department. The basic scope of
the project is to retrofit or replace existing heating, venti-
lation, electrical, plumbing, and lighting systems with
more energy and water efficient systems; enhance the
thermal performance of the building envelope; imple-
ment seismic upgrades; and improve accessibility.
Architectural firms responding to the Request for
Qualifications (RFQ) must have an office location in
Oregon and be licensed or have an application in
process to practice architecture in Oregon.
