Red Sox. The Tigers had scored

Dave McNally, an $80,000

The Eugene Speedway will
open its 1963 stock car season
Sunday, April za.
Opening day was originally
scheduled for April 14, but was
postponed when stands wera
blown down by a rain storm.
All facilities are expected to
be in good condition for next
weekend's opener.
This season, and for the first
time at the local track, the stock
cars will be running under a
new point system. This system
will abolish time trials after the
first race.
Every race after that will
have its field of cars placed in
their starting position by the
number of points the driver has
accumulated up to that race. All
starts will be in reverse with
the top man always starting in
the rear.
Gates will open next Sunday
at the West 11th Avenue track
at 1 p.m. with the first rac
scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
