Rites Held
n San Jose
Funeral gervices for Mrs. Ar
thur (Miry Belle) Hyne, 70,
native of Eugene, were held
March IS In San Jose, Calif.,
where she lived since 1048.
Mrs. Hyne died March 13 in
San Jose hospital after a 21-
day illness. She was born In Eu
gene Oct. 12, 1892, the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Yeager.
As a girl, she attended Eu
gene schools and became a
teacher at the age of 17, teach
ing in several Lane Count
schools before her marriage on
July 22, 1814, to Arthur J.
Hyne, who survives her.
She is also survived by a sis
ter, Mrs. John (Ruth) West of
Vida, and a son, Gene, of San
Jose. Mr. and Mrs. Hyne, for
many years, have been regular
summertime visitors at the
home of Mrs. West. '
Mrs. Hyne was a former mem
ber of the Eugene and Walter
ville Rebekah Lodges and was
past noble grand of the San
Jose Rebekah Lodge.
Interment was in Oak Hill
Memorial Park, San Jose.

Judge Signs
Union Order
. SEATTLE OB The maintenance-of-membership
clause in
the contract between the Boeing
Company and the Machinists
Union Has been continued In ef
fect by order of U. S. Diat
Judge William Lindberg.
Judge Lindberg signed the or
der Tuesday, three days after
the U. S, Court of Appeals in
San Francisco ruled that he
erred Feb. 8 when he said he
did not have jurisdiction to do
so. The order was sought by the
union.
The order requires union
members to remain members. It
will remain in effect during a
Taft-Hartley Injunction which
expires April 13. The injunction
was Issued after the union
called a strike Jan. 28 In sup
port of its demands for I union
shop and other contract changes.
- The union contends thst non
union workers at Boeing have
been urging members to quit
the union.
