Miss Lee Jane Freeman wore a wedding
gown of white satin brocade accented with
satin and fashioned in street length when
she was married Dec. 29 to Michael George
Fury. The double-ring ceremony took place
at 2 p.m. in Central Presbyterian Church,
the Rev. George R. Ashwood officiating.
Miss Freeman is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Freeman and Mr. Fury is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick G. Fury. Both
families are of Eugene.
With her wedding gown Miss Freeman
wore a circular veil held by a band of white
satin. She carried a bouquet of white carna
tions. .
Miss Lisa Bardeen, her maid of honor,
wore a street-length dress of blue silk with
a full pleated skirt. She wore a matching
veil and carried white daisy chrysanthe
mums. Robert Seeley of Olympia, Wash., was
best man. Ushers were Benny Smith and
Wayne Smith. White chrysanthemums deco
rated the altar.
A reception was held in the church parlor.
Mrs. Milo Marlatt cut the cake, Mrs. Man
uel Warfel poured coffee, and Mrs. Donald
Tracey served punch. Miss Molly Fury, sister
of the bridegroom, presented the guest book.
For their wedding trip to the coast the
bride wore a beige wool dress with brown
accessories and an orchid corsage. The
couple now is at home in Eugene at 45
West 24th PI. Mr. Fury is employed by
Snellstrom Lumber Co.
Attending the wedding from 'out of the
state were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Seeley and
family of Olympia and Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Meyer of Dyer, Nev., uncle and aunt of the
bride.

with lace overblouse and car
ried white chrysanthemums.

church parlor, where Mrs. Gil
bert Fox acted as hostess.

Mrs. Gene Gulledge cut the
cake and Mrs. Jerry Ballard
served. Miss Dorothy Prouty

Following a wedding trip to
the coast the couple now is at
home in Corvallis.

erine Bowman, formerly of,
Eugene. She is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Rogge,
formerly of Lane County,
now living in Phoenix, Ariz.
The bridegroom is the son of

The bride wore a gray knit
suit in jacquard weave with
black accessories. A three
strand pearl necklace was
her only jewelry. Mr. and
Mrs. Earl VosBurgh attended

Guard, is with the advertis
ing department of The World.
Her husband, who is in the
shipping department of the
Weyerhaeuser Co., is active
in the Four-H program with
horses and is vice president
of Rainbow Riders, riding

of her parents, wore a sheath
dress of shantung silk in pea
cock blue shade. She wore a
brief white veil and carried
white poinsettias and holly. ,
Mrs. Barbara Ross of Ac
cord, N. Y., sister of the
groom, was matron of honor,
in a blue wool dress and a cor
sage of yellow sweetheart
roses. Edgar Marshall was
best man.
The couple will travel to
Oregon to make their home in
Portland where Mr. Fredd,
who is a graduate of Cornell
University, is a biologist for
Oregon Fish Commission.
They will visit in Eugene with
Mrs. Fredd's parents en route.

Winfield-Powell
The marriage of Miss Marliene Powell
and Harold Winfield took place Dec. 26 in
Ashland Church of Christ. The double-ring
ceremony was performed by Mr. James Sin
clair. Miss Powell is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Verlon Powell of Ashland and Mr. Win
field is the son' of Robert Winfield of Bly.
Miss Powell has been living in Eugene where
she taught at Santa Clara School.
The bride wore a full-length gown of lace
embroidered at the neckline with iridescent
sequins. The full skirt was caught up at the
hemline with a lace Dior rose. Her float veil
of silk illusion was held by a pearlized floral
crown. She carried a bouquet of white roses
and also wore a pink cameo brooch, a gift
from the bridegroom.
Mrs. Glen Munsell of Salem, matron of
honor, and Mrs. Clyde Olson of Ashland at
tended the bride. They wore sheath dresses
of red satin brocade with matching veiled
pillbox hats, and carried white muffs
trimmed with red carnations.
Kim Stanton of Chico. Calif., was best
man and ushers were Glen Munsell and Tom
Hamilton. Howard Wood was vocal soloist.
At the reception in the church parlor,
Mrs. John Stoneburg cut the cake and Mrs.
Lindon Powell served punch. Mrs. Marvin
Powell had the guest book.
The couple made a wedding trip io Reno
and now is at home in Roseburg where Mr.
Winfield teaches in the junior high school.

Anderson-Fawver
Baskets of pink carnations and white
stock and candelabra holding pink candles
decorated the altar of Elmira Church of
Christ for the Dec. 28 marriage of Miss Lois
Fawver to Amel Anderson. The Rev. James
Caulley of Santa Clara performed the double
ring ceremony at 8 p.m.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Fawver of Veneta. Mr. Anderson is
the son of Mrs. Inez Sloan of Salem and the
late Lawrence Anderson.
Miss Fawver wore a floor-length gown of
white brocade satin fashioned with seed pearl
embroidery on the long-sleeved bodice. Her
veil was held by a small crown of seed pearls
and she carried gardenias and pink roses.
Mrs. George Kotlarck of Eugene was her
sister's matron of honor. She wore a floor
length gown of blue net over taffeta. Miss
Doris Renzema of Fairfield, Calif., brides
maid, wore a princess style gown of pink net
over taffeta. Both carried nosegays of white
carnations. Susan Fawver and Melvin Faw
ver, niece and nephew of the bride, lighted
the candles.
Otis Anderson of Salem was best man for
his brother. Ushers were Courtland Fawver
of Portland and Donald Fawver of Eugene,
brothers of the bride, and George Kotlarek.
Mrs. Clifford Poole played the organ music
and Lowell Chase was vocalist.
A reception was held in the church par
lor. Mrs. Verne Laswell and Mrs. Otis Ander
son cut the cake. Mrs. Kenneth O'Neil and
Mrs. Lawrence Anderson served coffee and
punch. Mrs. Ralph Wilson Jr. of Ridgecrest,
Calif., and Mrs. Donald Fawver took care of
gifts. Miss Timi Swanson presented the guest
book. Miss Elda Lowman and Mrs. Novella
Hargan assisted with the reception.
For their wedding trip to the coast and
northern California the bride wore a blue
and white knit suit trimmed with white ac
cessories. The couple now is at home in Eugene.
Mrs. Anderson teaches at Goshen Grade
School and Mr, Anderson is in business at
Oakridge.

Carrying for sentiment her late grand
mother Edmiston's handkerchief, Miss Marie
Ann Edmiston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Carl Edmiston of Elmira, was married to
Michael V. Moon Dec 29 in St. Catherine of
Sienna Catholic Church at Veneta. The Rev.
Lowell P. Blackburn of Junction City of
ficiated. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. .
and Mrs. Henry F. Moon of Salem.
Poinsettias decorated the altar of the
! church. Mrs. Ralph Rogers was soloist. ;
The bride wore a ballerina-length dress of
taffeta combined with lace in its empire
styled bodice, which, had three-quarter-length
sleeves and sweetheart neckline. The
taffeta skirt had a Watteau panel of lace
at back, with taffeta bow trim at the waist
line. She wore a float-length veil of illusion
held by a floral cluster of flowers and
pearls, and carried a nosegay of red roses.
Maid of honor was Miss Christine Brandt,
bride's cousin, in a ballerina frock of mint
green taffeta with bateau neckline and
short sleeves, the skirt trimmed with double
tucks and tailored bows. Similarly dressed
were the bridesmaids, Miss Caroline Edmis
ton, bride's sister, and Miss Shannon Moon,
groom's sister. All carried bouquets of red
roses and white carnations. '
; John Jarvis of Salem was best man and
ushers were Fred Jeter and James Waltz,
both of Salem.
The reception after the ceremony took
place in Elmira Grange Hall, where Mrs.
Irene Hodges of Salem, bridegroom's grand
mother, cut the cake, assisted by Mrs. George
Beringer, of Pendleton. Miss Dorothy Mitch
ell, MisB Donna Vachter and Miss Shirley
Cole, all of Salem, poured punch and coffee
and cared for gifts. Miss Pearl Brandt of
Eugene had the guest book.
The couple made a trip to Seaside, Mrs.
Moon wearing a doubleknit enscmblo of
two-tone gray with black accessories. They
will be at home In Salem, where the groom
is a student at Merritt Davis School of Com
merce and the bride is employed as a secre
tary for State Industrial Accident Commis
sion. .

A century-old sixpence was the token
worn by Miss Lavern Alsup with her bridal
attire, when she was married to Arthur Eu
gene Denning Dec. 22 in Harlow Chapel of
First Baptist Church in Eugene. The bride
is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billie Alsup
of Drain, the bridegroom is the son of the
Rev. and Mrs. Gene Denning of Cave Junc
tion. The bridegroom's father officiated.
Miss Alsup wore a floor-length gown of
satin with basque bodice and full skirt. Appli
ques of lace trimmed both bodice and skirt,
and were touched with sequins. A large bow
ornamented the back of the dress, which had
a chapel-length train. Her two-tiered veil of
illusion was held by a crown of pearls and
sequins, and she carried red roses.
Miss Dorothy Alsup was her sister's maid
of honor, wearing a dress of emerald green
with bell-shaped skirt and a self-material rose
at the waistline. She carried I bouquet of
white carnations. The other bridal attend
