Bridal Pair to make Home in Hawaii

MRS. JEFFRE ALLAN ANKENY
Miss Beverly Jane Allum wore a full
length gown of taffeta and lace fashioned
with a scalloped skirt of taffeta over wide
tiers of lace and a deep yoke of lace on the
bodice when she was married to Jeffre Allan
Ankeny Oct. 13 in Norkenzie Christian
Church. The ceremony was read by Mr.
Donald W. Kclley before a background of
lavender and white chrysanthemums. Lowell
Chase sang before the ceremony and J. Loren
Edmiston played the organ music.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Allum of Eugene. Mr. and Mrs.
loe N. Ankeny of Junction City are parents
of the bridegroom.
With her wedding gown Miss Allum wore
i float veil of illusion held by a large taffeta
rose and she carried white roses and steph
anotis, with lavender chrysanthemums.
Mrs. James Ankeny, the groom's sister-in-aw,
was matron of honor. She wore a bell
skirted gown of lavender brocaded taffeta
ind carried lavender chrysanthemums and
itephanotis.
Bridesmaids were Miss Billie Allum, the
bride's sister, Miss Winona Allum and Miss
Rita Ankeny of Junction City, the groom's
sister. All wore gowns of lavender taffeta
with bell skirts and carried lavender chrys
anthemums. Jacqueline Allum and Gregory
Allum, small sister and brother of the bride,
were flower girl and ringbearer.
1 James Ankeny was his brother's best
man. Ushers were Gary Whitcaker, Jerry
Myers and Terry Bacon.
A reception followed at the Allum home
4 on Law Lane, where Mrs. Richard Babcock
and Mrs. James Haynic cut the cake. Mrs.
Lloyd Whiteakcr and Mrs. Homer Payne
served coffee and punch. Miss Ressa Whit
eaker presented the guest book.
The bride wore an olive green suede
iheath for their wedding trip to Portland.
The couple left later in the week for Hawaii
where they will make their home. Mr.

Candles provided illumination for the wed
ding of Miss Patricia Chetwood and Jerry
Dee Weaver Saturday afternoon in St Mary's
Catholic Church in Eugene, and for the re
ception which followed. Because of the
storm, there were no other lights. The cere
mony was performed by the Rev. Eugene
Heidt. Mrs. Dale Cooley played the organ.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Everett M. Chetwood of Springfield, and the
bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don
ald Weaver of Brownsville.
The bride's gown was of nylon embroid
ered lace over taffeta, with jeweled neck
line. A cap of silk with seed pearls and se
quins held her illusion veil and she carried
a bouquet of white rosebuds tied with white
ribbons. She carried a handkerchief be
longing to an aunt, Mrs. George Burst of San
Diego.
Matron of honor was Mrs. Charles Woods
of Springfield, in a dress of pale blue bro
cade with matching satin hat, and carrying
a bouquet of white carnations and rosebuds.
Miss Mary Pat Noud was maid of honor, and
other attendants were Mrs. Milton Batson, of
Portland and Miss Karen Moe of Ashland,
both aunts of the bride; Miss Rosclla Thomp
son of Springfield and Debra Chetwood, 10,
bride's sister, junior bridesmaid. All were
gowned like the matron and carried similar
bouquets. Jaylcne Hamlin, 6, was flower girl
and James Hamlin, 4, was ring bearer.
Thomas Weaver was his brother's best
man and ushers were Michael Chetwood and
Randy Weaver, brothers of the pair; also Da
vid Berg, bride's cousin, and Jerry Russell.
At the reception in Columbus Hall, Mrs.
David Berg, bride's aunt, poured coffee; Mrs.
Harold Thompson of Anchorage, Alaska, and
Mrs. George Hill of San Diego, Calif., aunts,
served punch; Mrs. George Burst, another
aunt, served the cake, which was cut by Mrs.
Dorothy Moore. Miss Eugenia Karms, an
other aunt, was reception hostess. At the
guest book was Mrs. Hugh Stewart of Spring
field. There was dancing at the reception.
Following a week end trip to Salem, the
couple is at home in Eugene at 1650 E. 15th
Ave. Both attend University of Oregon.
Boring-Anderson
Miss Stephanie Louise Anderson carried
white orchids and roses arranged on a white
Bible belonging to a friend in Hawaii when
she was married to Ronald L. Boring. The
wedding took place Oct. 13 in St. Mary's
Episcopal Church with the Rev. Slccn White
side officiating.
Miss Anderson is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Merle Anderson and Mr. Boring is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Boring, Eugene.
The bride wore a floor-length gown of
peau de soie fashioned with a bell skirt. The
bodice was made with three-quarter-length
sleeves and a single bow above the waistline.
Her veil was held by a crown of flowers.
Miss Patricia Boring was maid of honor
and bridesmaids were Miss Janet Harsh and
Miss Phoebe Anderson. All wore sheath
gowns of gold taffeta with overskirts of beige
lace and carried gold chrysanthemums.
Gerald Davis was best man and ushers
were Richard Anderson and Gary Boring.
A reception was held at the Anderson
home following the ceremony. Mrs. Douglas
Anderson and Mrs. Perry Wade, grand
mothers of the bride, served cake and coffee.
Mrs. Mike Birch served punch. Miss Joann
Norbeck presented the guest book.
For their wedding trip to Seattle and the
World's Fair the bride wore a brown and rust
ensemble. The couple now ii at home in Eu
gene at 891 Taylor St.

Candles Illumine
Rite After Storm
The wedding of Miss Linda Murphy of
Alvadore and Lee Wright Dean of Astoria,
which took place in St. Helen's Catholic
Church at Junction City Saturday, Oct. 13,
was by candlelight, and the soloist sang un
accompanied, because the storm had cut off
power in the church. The ceremony was per
formed at 3 p.m. by the Rev, Lowell Black
burn, pastor.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Vern L. Murphy of Alvadore, and the bride
groom is the son of Mrs. Carl Perry of
Cheshire and Eugene Dean of San Jose, Calif.
Kenneth Ammerman sang "The Lord's
Prayer" and decorations were white stock
and red carnations. The bride, a florist, de
signed all the bouquets.
Miss Murphy's bridal gown was of white
slipper satin in street length, with bateau
neckline and short sleeves. The fitted bodice
was dropped, and an overskirt of lace flounc
ing flared from the hipline. She wore an illu
sion veil held by a small pearl crown with
pearl-drop ornament, and she carried a white
orchid ringed by white chrysanthemums and
with lemon blossoms tied in Its shower rib
bons. Mrs. Marvin King, sister of the bride,
was matron of honor. She wore a dress of
red brocade, styled like the bride's with
bateau neckline and short sleeves, the skirt
pleated and with bow belt. She wore a red
veiling headdress and carried white pompon
chrysanthemums in a cornucopia basket.
Similarly gowned and carrying the same
type of bouquet were the bridesmaids, Miss
Caroline Jacobson of Junction City and Miss
Sue Sanborn of Cheshire; also the junior
bridesmaid, Lora Mae Perry, groom's sister.
Dara Lyons, flower glrL wore a white or
gandy frock with red sash. Carl Perry, ring
bearer and brother of the groom, wore a
miniature uniform of the Coast Guard.
Clyde Eddings of Cheshire was best man
for Mr. Dean, and ushers were William San
born of Junction City and Clifford Perry of
Cheshire, junior usher.
At the reception afterward, Mrs. Miner
Mickclson, Cheshire, cut the cake; Miss Ger
aldino Hucy served punch and Miss Joan
Drew poured coffee. Miss Jean McClure re
ceived gifts and Miss Beryl Boggs attended
the guest book. '
After touring California for a week, the
couple is at home at Astoria, where thai
groom is stationed in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Sagen-Ashby
Miss Sharon Louise Ashby wore a street
length gown of white wool with a fingertip
veil and carried a white orchid with steph
inotis when she was married to Gerry Wynn
Sagen Oct. 6 In Central Presbyterian Church.
The Rev. Walter H. Gray officiated.
Miss Ashby is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Clyde Ashby and the bridegroom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sagen.
Mrs. Patrick Thometz, the bride's honor
ittendant, wore a beige lace sheath dress.
Her flowers were yellow carnations.
Patrick Thometz was best man. A basket
if white chrysanthemums decorated the altar
for the double-ring ceremony which was at
:ended by members of the families and close
friends. Miss Judy Sagen, sister of the bride
(room, presented the guest book following
jie ceremony.
For their wedding trip to the coast the
ride wore a red wool suit with black patent
ireessories. The couple now is at home in
Eugene at 202 W. 12th Ave.

Little-McPherson
Miss Lorane McPherson wore a floor
length bridal gown of lace and tulle in red- .
ingote style over a ruffled skirt of tulle
when she was married to Noel J. Little, Oct.
14, in First Christian Church. The Rev. Car
roll C. Roberts, retired pastor, officiated.
Miss Mcl'hcrson is the daughter of Mr,
and Mrs, Loran A. McPherson and Mr. Little
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Zonie K. Little.
The bride's gown was touched with lrrl
descent sequins at the neckline. Her veil was
held by a tiara of rhincstoncs and she car
ried a cascade of stcphanotis and lavender
roses surrounding a white orchid.
Miss Patsy Bruntz was maid of honor and
other attendants were Miss Sandra Hclvey
and Mrs. Rex Vaughan. All wore sheath dres
ses of lavender taffeta with overskirts of
i nylon organza and carried cascade arrange
ments of whito and lavender daisies.
Gayle Hansen was best man and Usher
were Gary Landers and Rex Vaughan.
A reception was held in the church par
lor, where Mrs. Roger Griffin, the bride's
aunt, and Mrs. Eldon Brothcrton cut the
cake. Mrs. Frank Cooper of Tacoma, Wash.,
another aunt, poured coffee and Mrs. Del
bcrt Brothcrton served punch.
The couple will be at home n Eugene.
MRS. RONALD BORING
