A STATEMENT TO THE
VICTIMS OF
OREGON'S WORST STORM
IN HISTORY:
Last Friday evening, Oregon was subjected to the tremendous
forces of nature and once again Red Cedar Shingles proved to
v be a superior roofing material.
After being battered by all the devastating fury of the hurricane
force, it was discovered that hardly any roofing damage was in
curred in those homes roofed with with Red Cedar Shingles.
This substantiates the findings at the University of Wichita who
subjected a standard section of cedar shingle roof to the force of
136 mile winds in their giant wind tunnel. Not a single shingle
was loosened."'
Despite the pressure of back-orders from our out-of-state customers,1 as of this
week, the Huntington Shingle Co.", Inc. is diverting its entire production to
this distressed area, to provide this proved superior product for the replace
ment of storm damaged roofs of imitation shingles. These cedar shingles will
be available through lumber yards and distributors at economical prices,
throughout this area. And remember-with durable Red Cedar shingles, the
same insurance rates apply in Oregon as with imitation shingle. Contact your
local yard for information on application and costs.
