Hints From Heloise S
i
Dear Heloise:
With shopping centers getting bigger and bigger, I find it
harder and harder to find my automobile when I get ready to
leave.
I finally solved the problem by placing my glove on the
radio antennae and hoisting It as high into the air as pos
sible. When I come out, all I have to do Is to look for my
glove in the air!
Busy Shopper
Dear Busy:
You're a dilly! Now you have even solved one of MY prob
lems. You're a doll.
Heloise
Dear Heloise:
My two young sons dearly love a long play period In the
bathtub while taking their baths.
The problem of where to put their many toys, floating
boats, etc. was solved when I loaded everything into a heavy
plastic bag with holes in it, and hung this on the shower
nozzle with one of those plastic clothespins with a hook. This
lets the bag drip dry or may remain until the next evening
bathtime. ,
If your heavy plastic bag has no holes In the bottom , , .
make some.
Reader
Dear Heloise:
When covering buttons, it the fabric being used is thin and
the metal shows through, cut a circle (the size of the top of
the button) of iron-on mend tape and press to the circle of
material being used! This is much easier than doubling thick
nesses of the fabric.
When emptying a can of coffee into a canister, pour from
the back side TOWARD you and very little coffee will spill.
Housewife
Heloise welcomes all mail, especially household hints which
aho ran pass on to readers as space permits. However, because
of the tremendous volume of mail she receives daily, Heloise
Is unable to answer all individual letters. She will answer
readers' questions in her column whenever possible.

NEW WAY TO BE
SUDDENLY SLIM
Are you a woman whose figure
is on the good side but mfght look
perfect? You'll be thrilled by the
new easy way science has discov
ered for you to become Suddenly
Slim. If you're more than 15
pounds overweight, then this idea
is not for you. If your weight prob
lem falls within this range, then
you can realize a new, smoother
figure today, without diet or
exercise.
Suddenly Slim Is- an all-new kind!
of 4-oz. girdle constructed of sci
ence fibers. A startling innovation
Is the sheer front panel. This is per
manently stiffened by a science
process and cannot give or stiff. It's
surrounded by a slimming action
border. A featherstitched panel
down each side of this girdle will
contour your hips if they are a
problem. The girdle Itself is of
"wonder" Lycra spandcx fiber. It
feels like nothing on but has such
slimming strength it gives your
figure everything that's possible
with a foundation.
"Suddenly Slim" Is the peak
achievement of the designer
genius, Olga.

'Dear
!
Abby'
-Abigail Van Bur en
DEAR ABBY: A no-good tramp Is bothering my husband.
She is married (this is her fourth husband) and has children
ranging from 4 to 19 years old. She has been calling him at
home until I thought I would go out of my mind. She stopped
calling him at home when I threatened to tell her husband.
But now she calls him at work. If her husband knew about it
he would bust her head open. I would tell him but I am
afraid he would harm my husband. Should I tell her hus
band and let my own husband take his chances? I don't know
how much more of this I can stand.
MOTHER OF FOUR
DEAR MOTIIER: You seem ready to do a lot of "talking"
and "head busting" but all with the wrong people. Why don't
you start with your husband? No man needs to be "bothered"
if he doesn't want to be.
.
DEAR ABBY: Our 15-year-old boy is our problem. He won't
do a thing unless he is paid for it. He worked last summer at a
garage and we heard all over town what a good worker he
was, but if we try to get him to mow the lawn or clean the
basement or even his own room he will sneak out of the house
before we can catch him. He is too big to spank and too young
to throw out of the house bag and baggage (which is what
his father thinks will cure him.)
Should we just put up with this kind of behavior until he
is 18 and then let the Army train him?
CORNERED
DEAR CORNERED: You son needs some affection and real
understanding. Do you "order" him to do things, or do you
ask him properly? 1 have yet to meet the normal 15-year-old
boy who wouldn't respond to a little praise, a lot of love and a
modest incentive.
Unload your problem on Abby. For a personal reply, send a
self-addressed, stamped envelope to ABBY, care of this paper.

all permanents are Invis

HERE'S HOW IT
HAPPENS
The chemical lotion we
use on your hair tempor

This "softening-up" pro

why professional beauty

is so Important? You
might bid the hair to go

there it would be "per
